"I was disappointed that food wasn’t as advertised. I am pescatarian but a vegetable laksa had a piece of chicken in it and XO fried rice with seafood came with all kinds of meats in that weren’t described in the menu. I’m sure it would be great if you ate meat as it looks like nice food but I’d just be aware that people need a bit more information on the menu so they can make the right food decisions for them."
"Neat noodle shop upstairs in a sort of compact Food Court in St. Ives Village ... one of the BEST shopping centres in Sydney. Noodles, wontons etc.good and average price, counter service with buzzers. No atmosphere in the cafeteria-style food court layout but obviously very popular with locals for a good cheap bite."
"If I posted this review pre 2020, it would definitely be 5 stars! Shredded duck and preserved vegetables is my favourite however covid era privations seem to have reduced the quantity of the key elements. I checked my photos over the last 2 years and the current quantity of non noodle ingredients is about 30% of pre-covid times. The flavour of the stock/soup is still good though. Tried the Tom Yum and I do not recommend it! Quite sweet and without the key elements needed to get the Tom Yum "tang" and bite. No Galangal used. Suppose they are Chinese and not Thai so its my fault/folly really. Regarding an earlier review of the Vietnamese beef noodle soup, his comments are unfair but perhaps correct post covid impact as Petit Saigon (closed down due to covid) was on another (better/authentic) level and now there is NO local competition ie Hornsby has several authentic and thus better Pho shops. The salt and pepper squid really is worth a try. Must try the Hainan chicken - hope it's as good as stated although I note that the positive reviewers are Indian(???). Wish there were aurthenic Indian restaurants locally, not the ho-hum rubbish served within 5 klm of here. Pity Council allowed an Indian restaurant to take over the old St Ives Headmasters cottage as there was an opportunity for something special instead of the current low level fare that is really only average takeaway and will be hard to remove and improve"
"This is the best Vietnamese beef noodle soup you can get around this area. I have been coming here for years to enjoy this delicious yet simple and inexpensive meal. I highly recommend!!!"
"Nasi goreng was amazing and cooked really fast but still fantastic quality. Hainan chicken with rice was really good and cooked at the same time!! The service time was impeccable and really easy."
