"Atmosphere is a standout at Alpha restaurant. The decor was aesthetically on point and modern. Service was very attentive and welcoming which is always appreciated in a sophisticated restaurant. Food was very generous and designed to be shared by the whole table. I suggest coming as a group so you are able to try a variety of dishes. We started with the pita and trio of dips (not on the menu but can be requested) and halloumi saganaki, followed by the spanakopita and BBQ chicken accompanied by a side of roasted potatoes and horiatiki salad. Chicken was cooked well but the potatoes were soft and not crisp as I would of imagined but still a solid main meal overall. Dessert was definitely the highlight of the night. We had the loukoumadas and almond bougasta which was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend Alpha for a fancy yet still casual nigh out in the city with friends!"
"Expected the usual Alpha experience and was sadly disappointed on a range of fronts: - service was good. More than perfunctory - we were offer tastes of all wines and there was attention. No real love, but was fine - atmosphere was an issue. Ok, we were both over 60, but it was hard to hear and the fit out guarantees that it sounds ‘busy’ (read: noisy to us older folk) - food was the biggest disappointment. I have loved Peter’s food for over 22 years, I think he is a brilliant chef. But the kitchen is not delivering on his vision: served too quickly, calamari was tough, eggplant was rubbery and while the scallops were perfect, they were severely let down by almost inedible eggplant. The lamb wa perfectly cooked, but again - tough. I was surprised as it looked beautiful. Accompaniments excellent. Nice night. Company that deserved better food. Sadly disappointed. Will seriously question whether we return…"
"Price: ~$90/pp Value: 7/10 Food aesthetic/presentation: 7/10 Taste: 7.5/10 Ambience: 10/10 Service: 5/10 Bucket List Bite: - Overall: 6/10 *Note: Unfortunately, while consuming the food, I discovered a piece of foil in one of the dishes. I promptly brought this matter to the attention of the staff, expecting a suitable response. The staff apologised but seemed somewhat dismissive, as if it were an inconsequential matter."
"Really good atmosphere and the service was very attentive and knowledgeable. We started with a selection of entrees (Haloumi, souvlaki, moussaka and octopus) and I'd highly recommend the moussaka, souvlaki and haloumi. The octopus was a bit tough. Mains were Spanakopita , moussaka and lamb shoulder. Overall these were a bit disappointing. The moussaka (beef) was overly salty and the lamb, while tender, really lacked a distinct flavour and fell flat. On a positive note the cocktails were very enjoyable."
