"I don’t wish to comment on the food, but if you’re curious about it, I suggest scrolling down to read some of the other reviews. My experience is to do with service etc etc - if you ever order take away, either in person or over the ‘phone, keep your own calculator handy and under NO circumstances pay cash. Their prices, even for the most simple things like breads etc are always totally random, constantly fluctuating almost on a daily basis, and NEVER according to what’s shown on the menu. When you order take away in person, the staff member takes 3+ minutes to add up THREE items, with the help of a snippet of paper, mental arithmetic AND a calculator and STILL gets it wrong and has to repeatedly double check it. In my last experience, using the same three tools, slip of paper, mental arithmetic AND calculator - got it wrong AGAIN, handed me what I assumed was the correct change which I pocketed without thinking and left, only to find him suddenly following me into another shop where I had to pick up more food, confronting ne to tell me he had given me $10.- too much in my change. I did not wish to really engage as I feel he is a bit dim, I pulled out the 2 banknotes he had given me, handed him back the $10.- note and went on my way without further engaging with the person, as he seemed a bit slow on comprehension from earlier observation I had made when ordering/picking up food. When I dropped part of the food at my neighbours, I told them about that experience and then their 7 or 8 years old primary school girl got out her calculator, re-calculated it and told me that in fact I had been short changed by $ 6.- . After a while I went back to the shop to clarify things and also to let them know that he had embarrassed me in the other shop he had followed me into. He did return the $ 6.- to me, but if one is not able to rely on a restaurateur being able to add up THREE items of food, using paper, mental arithmetic AND electronic calculator, I feel uncomfortable to frequent such a shop in future and they might perhaps give some thought on how to prevent this or find another kind of business to conduct. That’s all ! But like I said above, if you MUST buy there, get your own calculator to follow their calculations of what you owe for your order and DO NOT rely on the calculations of somebody that needs pen & paper, mental arithmetic AND electronic calculator AND STILL gets it wrong, regardless of wether it’s in THEIR favour or in YOURS. IT IS EMBARRASSING EITHER WAY ! -peter-"
"Great food - we loved it. Don’t listen to the haters."
"Just wish I had read reviews before ordering but I had tried this place around 8 years ago and it was good. Here's why I rated it 2 stars: Ordered 2 biryanis (chicken and lamb). What I got wasn't a biryani - it was some rice mixed with chicken and lamb curries with some spice powders added. The masalas were overpowering and undercooked. Couldn't eat after a few spoonfuls and had to discard. The 2 staff/owners who were there looked totally disinterested - that's when I got this nagging feeling that this is not going to be a good experience. Here's the thing: paying customers want restaurants to succeed and serve good food so that you can go back there, but when an eatery is so callous with its food (read all the reviews - nearly everyone has had a similar experience), you got to wonder why they are even staying open. Better to spend a few more bucks and go to Castle Hill - you'll get much better food."
"Great butter chicken, great lamb korma, awesome Samosas and tasty naan bread. I think most of the negative reviews about this place are fake."
"This used to be a great local Indian Takeaway for us. We hadn't visited since Covid hit but we decided to pick up some Take Away last week as we had fond memories. The Samosas were soggy and grease laden, the Lamb Madras was so tough that I couldn't even chew it, the fish tasted like it was frozen, reheated and dipped in curry sauce. All in all, mainly inedible and we had to throw away 90% of the "food". Never again!"
