"Couldn't ask for a better place to live. I have no idea what all these poor reviews are about. I see someone complaining about the noise from the trucks, surely they knew it was there before they moved in? I live in building C and can never hear the trucks anyhow. The facilities are great, from the gym, to the steam room and the business hub. People do not appreciate the little things. Not many apartments have these facilities... If you don't like apartment living, buy a house"
"As a former resident of The Mark apartments do yourself a huge favour and do not move in there. The entire complex is cheap, shoddy, very poorly run by everyone involved and will weather quickly. The workmanship questionable with an undescribable amount of issues within the interior & exterior of the apartment and across the multiple car parks. I had a friend living in building C, over the loading dock on Beavis Street which was a nightmare. Trucks entering and unloading 24hrs a day/7 days a week. The noise, sounds & pollution were horrific. Refrigeration trucks idling outside the front of the building for 2-3 or more hours at a time waiting to unload is cause for concern. Bandaid fixes are used around the entire complex. Grease traps from Coles can be smelt in all three buildings, it's disgusting. No fixes, but instead large deodoriser highly chemical sprays were fitted on every floor to cover the greasetrap smells. Just horrid. There are a lot nicer and well placed apartments in the area. Avoid this complex at all costs. The Mark Apartments are a mess."
"Living at The Mark Apartments, Elsternwick (worst one year of my life) My partner and I moved into the Mark Elsternwick in 2019 into a brand new apartment for a one year lease. We had intentions of staying beyond as the Real Estate Agent sold us on the beautiful communal facilities, views and ease of living in Elsternwick. Worst year of our lives. within 4 months black mould developed in both bathrooms due to poor ventilation. When we fed this back to the real estate agent they gave general advice to clean it and offered no help... for 90% of the year the communal facilities were closed for no reason. This is after and outside of covid restrictions and was used by the owner as a tool to save money given so many people moved out of the building so often. It was like a rotating door of exiting tenants. The building company Hacer that built the building had works storming around angry 24/7. They were so frustrated with their client they were rude to tenants You don't have the freedom to review competitor internet and power suppliers given the owner forces you to go with their preferred supplier as they own the companies. Electricity came in at $250+ some months. my partner and I went away for 3 weeks and still had a $250 bill - when emailed the supplier and they said we must have left air con on for 3 straight weeks in the middle of Winter...we have since gone to the ombudsman"
"As an ex resident I post this warning - DO NOT LIVE HERE. The rental provider is incredible cheap and is worried about the small costs. Turning lights off in communal areas by a certain time, keeping the steam room closed, no electricity in gym (even though machines are there). No only did they keep our $3k bond for 5 months over $190 dollars they wanted to keep but they charged us $300 a month in electricity by the electricity provider that the owner of the building owns. They could not justify why the bills were so high, hence we have had to involve a lawyer and a formal complaint via consumer affairs. I would avoid this building at all costs - its a terrible investment by the owner with only achieving 50% of the apartments being rented at one time hence why they are trying to save costs everywhere they can and therefore pushing the only tenants they have out. Cheaply made, cheaply managed and wildly expensive....avoid!"
