"The people who were also staying at the hostel were extremely friendly. The staff is very easy to talk to and friendly. I stayed in room 21, containing two bunk beds, two tables, two chairs and nothing else. Australian power outlets can be found on either end of the room. The room was moderately sized, around 2.3m x 6m. In the toilets located on the same floor, the floor was always flooded in one toilet cubicle. There are two showers: one with a very see through shower curtain and the other in an cubicle with a broken door lock. To get around this, I would insert my keys into the locking mechanism to hold the door closed. The shared areas (kitchen, dining, tv area, rooftop) were kept somewhat clean as hostel-stayers cleaned up their own messes. Kitchen is closed from 10pm until 6am. Rooftop terrace access is closed from 11pm until 6am."
"We had a double bedroom wich was completely dirty. We've been traveling for 3 years and this is the dirtiest backpacker we've ever been. Small fridge in thw room was smelling like a dead animal. It actually had some kind of liquid we guess is from meat (which made it smell terrible as the fridge was of). Toilet full of fungus, the room hasn't been swept for ages. Walls were dirty, covered with different marks. A disgusting experience!"
"Bed was clean room was clean. Don’t go here expecting the Hilton and you won’t mind. Free coffee and free toast for those who want. Girl at reception was really nice. Share bathrooms were a bit run down and a little mould in the bedroom. But for $30 a night in Sydney - what do u expect.?"
"My girlfriend and I stayed at the East Hyde Park Hostel for a weekend and it was great! We had a small nice double room with a king size bed, a fridge and an ensuite. The hostel is really central, so Hyde Park, Art Gallery, Royal Botanical Gardens and Kings Cross Station are just minutes a way and there is a Woolworth right around the coner! The owner is nice and very helpful. We had a great stay and definitely recommend it to others!"
"The place is very old, room is extremely dirty, never seen any one come and sweep the floor. What's worse is the manager is very rude, he yells the customer all the time, very loud and rude. Kitchen is tiny, fridge is smelly, some of the fridge you can't even close the door, liquid is leaking out."
