"I needed a prescription filled. I went to the fist chemist and they told me they only had the generic brand. I wanted the original brand, so i went to the next chemist... Amcal Balmain. They filled the script, put it in a brown paper bag and I paid. It wasn't until i got home that I found I had been given the generic brand - BUT without telling me. At the same time as buying the original prescription, the pharmacist suggested i also take pro-biotics. We exchanged 2 sentences over this - why, and when to take them etc. I said it sounded like a good idea, and so he added them to the package. I paid for the shopping, but was quite surprised at the total cost, so i asked for the receipt. It was only when i reviewed the receipt that i saw the cost of the small bottle of pharmacist suggested pro-biotics were $40! That was quite a surprise, and at no time did the pharmacist mention how expensive they were as part of our discussions, or before 'popping them into the bag'. When i realised the cost, and with the receipt, I went straight back, returned the bottle and asked for my money back. I was refunded the $40, without a fuss, other than being asked whether i would some another brand that was cheaper. I am generally dissatisfied with the whole experience. I received generic brand prescriptions without being told. AND I was sold a small bottle pro-biotics for an undisclosed price (only to later find out they were $40)."
