"I wouldn’t come here for a relaxing meal. A nice restaurant, very tasty food, good portions, attentive staff. However, they didn’t inform us the sitting was 90 minutes when we booked & the staff kindly pressured us to hurry up & order, hurry up & eat & hurry up & pay. We didn’t like that pressure. Washoku vaucluse is byo but they don’t give you an ice bucket for your beverages. I was literally still eating when they bought the bill & kindly pressured us to pay now as people were waiting for our table. We were only a few minutes over the 90 minute mark! It’s more of an ‘eat & run’ place than a ‘come & have a relaxing meal with friends’ place."
"This is a nice little restaurant. The kitchen appears small but they offer a wide variety of Japanese-inspired dishes. The sashimi was pretty standard, but really enjoyed their signature rolls (Mad-Mex and Dynamite). "Washoku is a top-notch dining experience, without breaking the bank. The salmon taco’s are to die for, as well as just about any sushi dish. Their to-go containers and mentality around their food is immaculate and truly aims to meet your every expectation. I have experienced better pre-dining/waiter service before at other restaurants, but the food makes up for this without a shadow of a doubt. Worth going out of your way to come to Washoku when visiting Sydney."
"Great Japanese place with a decent range of items as can be seen by the pictures. Great sashimi, fresh fish and extremely well cooked tempura. It is also BYOB - when combined with the local bottleo this is a great combination. The overall impression is extremely favourable with some outdoor seating areas as well as good indoor seats which are a bit darker during day time. Prices are a bit dear; but, considering the food quality, acceptable. The location is pretty central but parking can be hellish in this part of town. Be prepared..."
