"Be careful don’t park at hotel. They offer discount rates. Then when you go to pay they will say you can’t get discount rate unless you have their app prior to entering. Kind of false advertising. I then complained and they receptionist went straight to the next person in line trying to ignore me. I had no idea what was going on, did I have to download an app, was I getting the advertised discount price, did I have to pay the non-discount price? I tried asking the receptionist but she went went to the next customer. I was frustrated, and had to raise my voice so she would resolve how would I be paying for parking. She then said download the app. So at this point I was totally confused, do I have to drive out of complex, then use app to get back in, should I drive elsewhere, do I have to pay full price because entered already. Nothing was explained. I became frustrated, I think most people would. Then another manger reception staff came and was like a bully, telling me because I made the other receptionist uncomfortable, she was being like a bully, she explained I’d made other receptionist uncomfortable, I tried explaining she didn’t want to listen at all. Just saying fine, if you say any more she would have security ask me to leave. Wow, finally I was, allowed, to explain, I simply said the advertising says discount rate, $17, they should have it clearly advertised that the rate is only if you download the app prior to entering their car park, I think that is fair. I will contact VCACC to make a complaint about their advertising as I can imagine that many others are falling into this trap, driving in, then staff saying you can only get the discount rate if prior to entering you gave registers with their app. Finally the manager listened, so before heaving I explained to the initial receptionist that I meant nothing against her, I simply was confused about the whole process. She understood, I don’t think it’s the staff fault either. I think the hotel should be responsible for not making it clear that you should not enter without downloading their app prior. I’m addition, I had buzzed their microphone at the entry, and no one explained this prior to entering, they simply opened the gate to enter. All this trouble - what a mess. Please sort out your problem so other customers are not misled by your unclear, and at worst false advertising, potentially designed to make unaware customers pay full fee, instead of their advertised discounted rate. Also, I’d recommend to the manager, to please ask the customer what is wrong if they are upset, to calm down a situation, instead of acting like a bully, and not listening to someone who was truly confused, and it was your hotel fault for false and misleading advertising."
"Live from hotel: We have just arrived.tired. Paid $900 for 4 nights. Noticed the aircon is broken. Room is very cold. Reception says the maintenance is not available on weekends. He has gave me an electric heater and a blanket. My son is sick. I can’t sleep with noise from heater. I will update you guys with the rest."
"Staying here for 3 days. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the property is considering the similarly priced hotels I stayed before in Melbourne. Quality rooms and good service, breakfast is good with both secured and off street parking options. The only blip was before the visit, I tried to call the hotel a few times and even left a message but couldn’t reach them and the call was not returned."
"Upsides- Beds were really big and comfy. The view from our room was really pretty. I really liked the location, the area was very scenic and there are a lot of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. It was also near the place we were going and right next to a tram station which turned out to be really convenient. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I loved the lollies in the foyer. TV has lots of different apps and channels like Netflix, Disney, Kayo and YouTube. Downsides- the breakfast buffet eggs were gross and the dinner buffet options were limited. The lasagne was yummy but I wish there was meat on it or another meat option. One of the elevators was out of order and the other elevator was ridiculous. It took almost 10 minutes one time for the elevator to come to my floor and so I was forced to take the stairs. This isn’t so bad but the shower had no door and you have to be a little careful whilst taking showers if you don’t want to get the floor wet."
