Our journey to becoming the best authentic Italian restaurant began with Melbourne-based chef Johnny Di Francesco. With a passion for Italian cuisine that started at a young age, Johnny worked in a Pizzeria after school and eventually left his Engineering degree to explore his love for Italian food in Italy. In 2008, he launched 400 Gradi, which has since expanded not only across Melbourne but also in other parts of the world.
One of the reasons why 400 Gradi is considered the best is our adherence to the guidelines of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) – the world authority on traditional Neapolitan pizza. Johnny was the first Australian to be inducted into the AVPN and is the Principal of Australasia for the Association. This ensures that our pizza is as authentic as it gets.

"Visited this lovely Italian restaurant a couple of months back when I passed through Mornington with my family. We sat outside undercover and were accommodated with our pram and a highchair. Between the four of us we enjoyed three mains and two entrees. Service was okay. Parking is available in most side streets or behind in the bigger car parks, free but timed so just be careful."
"Probably one of the best Italian restaurants on the peninsula. Came here on Tuesday 16.05 and it was quite busy for a Tuesday! The team are absolutely lovely, offering us tasters of wines and prompt with placing our orders. The food is divine, the gnocchi is a standout despite the simplicity of the dish and the seafood pasta was cooked to perfection with a generous amount of seafood. They have a lovely selection of local and imported wines and the cocktails are super unique. Only con was the mushroom pasta - it was very very rich and we couldn’t finish it. Would definitely recommend this place although it is a bit pricey but definitely worth it!"
