"I bought Royal canin puppy wet food and my dog had a diarrhea. I went back there for refund 2 weeks later. There was an old lady sleeping while standing up. I asked her and she said she can not refund them because it has 2 weeks passed already. She said I can refund to the Royal canin supplier but not in the shop. Gosh~ Some how I got it refund for the rest of unopened pouches but unpleasant the ways she was treating me. Not friendly staff."
"Disgusting treatment of animals - puppies can be heard crying and barking well into the evening, left in small glass boxes overnight. Probably havent smelt grass or fresh oxygen in weeks."
"The way this shop treats its animals is criminal. - two weeks ago, puppies were heard barking and whimpering at 8am on a Sunday, two hours before opening. Are there being left in glass cages in the closed shopping centre overnight?? - puppies are constantly walking in their own urine, with wet legs as evidence - noticed Facebook posts on their page about puppies in first week of December (from 2 December) that I then saw are still living in those tiny glass cages today (27 December). That’s over three weeks as tiny babies living for people to gawk at but never get to touch. Absolutely heartbreaking. - baby turtles in a tank in nothing but water with small rocks covering the bottom of the tank - no heating, no sensory elements or plants etc. - axylotls in seperate tank with same conditions. Each was injured, missing feet etc. (photos below) - fish close to death in goldfish and guppie tanks - four or five rabbits in each tiny cage - multiple miserable looking birds in each cage Considering how highly trafficked this shooing centre is, and the multiple laws surrounding pet shop operation, I’m surprised that this shop is still operational. Westfield needs to do better and revoke their lease. Do not purchase an animal from here - they are likely to have severe behavioural issues and unfortunately illness, also."
"Absolutely appalled by the conditions these pets were kept in, especially the fish. I don't have a lot of knowledge for the other types of animals that are sold but the treatment of the betta fish is just downright awful. First of all they are kept in extremely small garish looking 'tanks' with nothing to block their view of one another. I understand that betta fish are hard to stock considering they all need be separate but i've seen aquarium stores keep their fish in large jars which look much better than the condition these poor bettas were in. On that note the bettas looked terribly sad with dull colours, stressed fins, lethargic with little to no reaction when I waved my finger at them and many had what looked like cases of swim bladder. The stressed fins are caused by what I think to be over flaring, not only are they looking directly at each other but they also have brightly coloured gravel and well as the lids. These are known to stress out bettas and seems to be the majority of the gravel they stock! If you purchased your betta from here than I am more than willing to bet that it died within the year if you were an inexperienced owner, fish abuse is often overlooked but I just can't stand the mistreatment of bettas! Save yourself from trouble and buy from a reputable breeder online or go to a specialised aquarium store that actually cares about its fish."
"I would give 0 stars if I could. Yesterday I approached the staff of this pet store because of the conditions that the birds are kept in. As you can see from the photos attached the cage is covered in weeks worth of droppings - that has dried so much it is dusty and cemented to the bars of the cage. The water bowl had bird droppings in it as well. This is not the first time I have seen this pet store keep birds in this condition and as you can see from other reviews, they not only neglect the birds but also keep rabbits and dogs in poor environments as well. Yesterday I decided to speak up and query as to why they are kept this way. Initially I asked how much each bird was being sold for, there was no sign on the cage explaining what breed, age, sex or price for these birds - literally nothing at all on the cage except for weeks worth of droppings. I was informed that each bird was being sold for between $500 to $700 per bird. I then asked when was their cage cleaned last - immediately the young male staff member became defensive, and loudly interrupted my question with "this morning, we clean the cages daily" When I refuted this and stated that I am a bird owner myself and that is not a half day's worth of droppings - the owner said that I was being offensive and I was wrong and don't know what I am talking about and when I kept pushing the matter further of the weeks worth of poo and requested the manager's details - he handed me a business card and repeated that I was being offensive, aggressive and rude and is calling security on me to have me escorted out of the shop. I immediately left as there was no reasoning with this staff member who was rude, loud, aggressive and defensive for a couple of questions regarding the care of the birds and here I am leaving this review to warn potential bird purchasers that this shop doesn't treat the babies correctly. There was only one toy in the cage for 3 babies as well. No enrichment nor hygiene for the birds at all and further to this - no clean bowls for the birds' food or water. And this cage they are kept in has been in use for 2 years - I have witnessed birds even in 2019 being kept in this same cage in poor hygienic standards with no enrichment available."
