"Michael charged us 850€ for a powerflush of 9 radiators. He charged 705€ for fixing our oil boiler. Cash no Vat on the day. His quote was directed at me after I made it clear that we are new home owners, new to the area and new to all things plumbing. He was the only plumber available at the time and we were desperate as we had no heat, no shower. 4 weeks later: we asked him to come back. The oil boiler was leaking kerosene and smoking. He had left all radiator caps off the radiators, he'd left the cistern of the toilet unscrewed. We asked him to come and finish the work we paid him for. He didn't. Instead He threatened my partner on the phone, extremely agressive. Michael's reaction towards us as clients who had already paid him a grand and a half was absolutely unprofessional and uncalled for. Our second opinion plumber told us the standard rate of a powerflush for that amount of radiators is about 350€. 30€ cost for the chemical that is used. That means Michael charged us more than 100€ an hour!!! for his labour that day. He was there about 7 hours. 500€ for labour on the boiler that we now are having to get fixed by another plumber. Later I found quotes on his Facebook page charging 350€ for the same service that he charged us 850€ for. We feel robbed and scammed. We were in a vulnerable position needing heat in our house. We have a child with a physical condition and a young toddler. We had to take out a loan to pay for this work. And really there is nothing we can do now. Michael has blocked us on phone/messaging and threatend us with legal action if we were to tell this story."
