"Car failed on the headlight bulb tip being discoloured, and no ID when bringing the car for test! and this required a re-test and retest fee! On the retest the staff were very abrupt, and rude. Presented myself to the desk, to be ignored by the lad sitting there for 5 mins, then when I asked about being served, he rudely said ‘Sit down, and you will be called when we are ready’ When they actually took the car in for the test, they literally drove it through the centre and out the other side. Leaving the car outside in the car park, engine running, keys inside. It was 5-10 mins later I was called back up and told it was ready. Went outside to the car engine running in car park, is this not dangerous, anyone could swipe the car if they were quick enough hanging about the car park."

"My car failed NCT 6 weeks ago on Headlight Alignment, everything else was Ok. I got the Headlight unit replaced, but had missed the retest, and with limited availability at my local NCT Centre, I managed to get a booking in Westport NCT Centre. The car passed all tests including the headlight, however they failed me on 3 visuals. They have me puzzled as these didn't just pop up in the last 6 weeks and they weren't picked up in the previous test. Interestingly a guy I assumed to be a local was in, he was having a right laugh with the lad behind the counter, he had passed his NCT test, but was told by the guy there is a bit of rust starting to form in the boot area, and if he put a lick of metal paint on it, it should be fine. One of the items they failed my car on was corrosion in the door sill, my mechanic and his bodywork repair guy have literally just looked at my car and can't find any corrosion in any of the door sills. They have advised me to make a complaint through the NCTS"
