"Bought a McCulloch chainsaw through their good online shop and the purchase was easy with prompt delivery. Unfortunately the chainsaw is not good. It can be very difficult to start (even on warm days) but the main problem is it constantly cuts out to the point where its totally un-useable... Warm engine, cold engine, idlying over or full revs, it doesn't matter, it will cut out. There is also a metal pinging sound coming from the engine while running. Brought the saw back while it was under guarantee and they acknowledged there was a problem and an unusual metal sound. Their solution was to adjust the carb. It didnt work. I have the chainsaw 2 1/2 years, used it briefly a handful of times (with fresh mix) but each time, I walk away from it frustrated and swearing after 15 mins. My uncle owns a sweet running 8 year old McCulloch saw that I can compare mine poorly against. The manufacturers label on the chainsaw gives 2015 as the manufacturing date, which means the chainsaw sat on a shelf for 5-6 years until it was sold as new. Problematic saw from the very beginning. Careful what you buy online. Not a happy customer."
