"Great experience, our first holiday on a little cruise for our Easter holidays. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers 14 and 12, great fun for all and we all had a go in driving the boat. The staff recommend us to take a few days around the lakes in the north and we decided to do it. Lovely landscapes, birds and scenery. We always looked for quiet places to sleep in, even if we weren't too close to pubs and restaurants. The boat is well equipped for basic cooking and to my surprise comfortable. Make sure you carry plenty of drinking water, food, a few snacks just in case shops are not around on your day journey. One of the taps broke one morning, we called Carrickcraft and they replaced the tap within an hour, we also asked for extra duvets and they had no problem to help us too. We rented bikes to go around, but to be honest we didn't use them that much, as we were sailing most of the times. I can also see that this may not be a holiday for everyone, it's not a 5 start hotel, but if you are happy with a "caravan type" accommodation and not too fuzzy, this is something to try! We discover how beautiful is Ireland from the water! The 4 of us loved the experience, we'll definitely do it again."
"Honest advice goes a long way. Easy and straight forward to deal with.. Surprise however. Green diesel is outlawed sobyour now paying for white diesel at road pump prices. Not Carricks fault. Just the way it is"
"We booked a Linssen 35.0 - a wonderful boat. It was the third time boating in Ireland on the river Shannon. Booking with Anita (Hausbootirland) was perfect. The bus transfer after arrival at Dublin Airport to Banagher was horrible - very unpolite drivers, behaving like children, joking about the guests and the coach was more a historic experience from the early 80th. As already mentioned from other guests, introduction to the boat was quite short. The boat itself was in a surprising, bad condition with a lot of damages. But we made the best of it and had a wonderful holiday. Positive with Carrick Craft was the Diesel fill up at Carrick-on-Shannon and at Banagher. Both responsible persons were competent, emphatic and reliable. Nevertheless: next time it will be Manor House Boat Rental again."
"Fantastic way to spend a few days, very professional and friendly staff. It's harder than it looks but you soon get the feel for it. The scenery is beautiful and there are lots of lovely places to stop and get food. Highly recommend."
"It's a family favourite holiday we plan to keep doing, this was our 5th time and we have always found different places to stop. Remember to bring extra power source to plug into marine power supply to power a laptop or electric kettle.ask the staff before you go."
