"The food is incredible and they sell a cookbook. I recommend both. Find a table first and then grab a tray and get in line. It may not look like it, but there are sort of two lines. The first is as you come up the stairs and is a sandwich bar. Go a little further down and you have the hot food. I recommend getting the meal with tea and a desert."
"My second time and I will start by saying the food is worth giving it a go. My first time I had a Greek burger, mash and veg that was lovely. This time was a breakfast sandwich that was also plenty filling and tasty. I've also gotten their bread (same as the bap was on) downstairs in the bakeshop and it's definitely welcome at home any time. I didn't try any of the tarts and pastries I have pictured here but based on the meals/bread I have had, I'd say you won't be disappointed in taste. The service, however, is hit and miss. I've been in the bakery and the two young ladies were upbeat, friendly and patient as I figured out what I wanted on a first visit. I've been other occasions and observed with myself and others the service seems a bit curt/short based on if they know the customer or not. As well, upstairs, I had a wonderful experience with the gentleman who served me the Greek plate but felt almost like an intrusion getting my breakfast. Each question was a bit impatiently answered and the breakfast board pointed at before she walked away. Not the most welcoming experiences - which is surprising given the general kindness I've felt since moving to Sligo. Pictures are from #8Nov2022"
"One of the best irish breakfast I had was in Lyans cafe. I heard about this cafe feom one of my friends but when I went to sligo, I tried their breakfast and it was absolutely awesome. If you are planning to go to sligo, then i would suggest that you definitely visit Lyans cafe. There is paid car park nearby and planty of shopping places as well."
"Best breakfast this side of the Shannon! Full Irish or breakfast brioche, absolutely hard bet! Both extremely tasty. Beautiful setting upstairs with bakery and take-out downstairs. Brilliant polite staff. If you are visiting Sligo this is a must eat. Breakfast available til noon and after that the selection is still 5 star; pulled pork sandwiches and hot dinners. The financiers from the bakery are a delicious sweet treat to top it all off!"
"We looked for a nice place to eat breakfast this morning and found Lyons café. It was awesome, all drinks and meals were incredibly tasty. I had the best quiche I have ever eaten, and the salads were so good that I had to take a salad box home with me. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend!"
