"Like all hotels of this size and location, there will be a wedding reception most weekends over the summer. The room we had, in the annexe, was lovely, though one of the windows wouldn't open (the other opened enough to air the room). The shower head is fixed to the wall. The surroundings were lovely, and there is a pretty walk in the countryside locked by the hotel and openable with a card from the hotel. The card they gave us didn't work, but it's easily opened by reaching your hand under and opening it from the other side. Our dinner was good enough, though not fantastic and a little overpriced. The staff were great. The breakfast was okay. I was quite surprised at being asked to book a time for breakfast. It didn't reduce the queue. There are two queues, one to get in, and then one to get your cooked breakfast, which was the longer queue (table service is only for tea or coffee). The staff, again, were great."
"Met up for night with 2 friends, Fabulous room with lake views. Very quiet even though wedding on. Staff were brilliant and so friendly. Ate in bar, great atmosphere, lovely food and prompt service. Pool area very good but jacuzzi could have been a bit hotter. Did loop walk next morning, very nice to be able to get a good walk in. Fabulous stay overall. Recommend highly for relaxing break."
"Arrived at Hodson Bay on 13.3.23. A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. We booked an excellent package which included dinner and a spa treatment, as well as a nights stay. The rooms were luxurious and modern with everything needed, the food and wine in the restaurant was tasty, modern and superbly presented, with excellent service. The spa and thermal rooms were a high standard and great way to start our travels around Ireland. Particular thanks to Victoria provided an incredible Swedish massage that really eased up ongoing problems in my shoulders. Really impressed with her approach and making sure the massage was meeting expectations. I will go back next time for hotel and the spa when I’m in the area again. Fantastic treat!"
"Had a wonderful stay during the Christmas period. A lovely big family room with a great shower. The hotel had a great atmosphere and was so family friendly. Food was also very good. But what made the whole experience so great were the staff, they were all wonderful, attentive and genuine, nothing was any trouble. When you have two small children this means the world. The staff makes this hotel excellent. Highly recommend."
"Visited here for afternoon tea. Dean, Ciara, and the team looked after us extremely well. We were in a quiet restaurant area away from the hustle and bustle of the main hotel and bar. Ample tea and coffee were provided with an amazing afternoon tea offering. It was very clear that a lot of care and attention had gone into our food. Would highly recommend this experience."
