"Oh wow ….. I found Maria many years ago after years of colouring difficulties. I have very fine hair which started to turn grey at 15 years…. So a monthly colour is a must. However my hair seems harsh and sometimes refuses to absorb the colour. So when I get there I usually have an inch of white roots. For many years with many hair salons when I got my colour my hair would be brown and the white roots would turn golden but in contrast to the main colour. Despite telling other hairdressers this I just got an “oh ok we’ll look at that” but it never improved …. Then fate steered me towards platinum hairdressing…. With Maria. She worked with me tried out her colour expertise and we initially had a few disasters but Maria was determined to find what worked with my difficult hair. SHE DID IT. I would not be comfortable to trust another hairdresser now with my colour. My hair being difficult it has gone not perfectly twice in 12/13 years but Maria has always always put it right no matter the time cost to her… she has also created many gorgeous up styles for me and my daughter and many friends. When my daughter got married who would be at our home at 6.30am to do everyone’s hair to perfection was a no brainier. Maria of course. There was a last minute panic with the bridal and bridesmaid dresses as they hadn’t tried them in the day they collected them from the dressmaker as my daughter wore my wedding dress and the three dresses were a little too loose around the bust. Maria having finished her hair commitments flew into fix it mode and sewed my daughters dress while I looked after the bridesmaids. The only negative I could DIG up if I needed one was parking in central Castlebar when she worked out of there. Now she has moved to a new build state of the art salon at the rear of her home where I just rock up and park at the door. Tea and a biscuit or refreshing herbal tea or a glass of still or sparkling water is also always on offer whilst the colour is developing. For me I’m spoilt and thoughts or reverting to a new hairdresser would be traumatising. While I realise that may sound dramatic but I’ve encountered so many disasters. I know my hair is difficult… doesn’t hold curl etc… I had a curly blow dry for a wedding a few years ago….. pre finding Maria and it was 5 km from home…. My husband looked at me strangely when I got back and asked…. “But I thought you were getting your hair done” it had fallen flat in 10 minutes….. not happened since I found platinum ."
