"A quiet, family-friendly, spot surrounded by nature. We only stayed a couple of nights for a social ocassion in the village, but I can imagine this would make a nice base for a longer exploration of the area's natural beauty, as it has an easy access to the riverside paths. We opted for the accomodation in a small challet on the property, which is simple, but private and comfortable; everything there was functional and spotlessly clean. The hosts are lovely and welcoming, and will even cook-up a full Irish breakfast should you so desire. The location is about a 25-minute walk/ 5-minute car ride to the local village, so while a car would be rather handy, it is not necessary for a short stay. We didn't have one, and managed fine by local taxis (which the hosts can help arrange if needed; I especially recommend them when it gets dark, because the road is curved and does not really have much of designated 'walking' space). Ours was, overall, a very pleasant stay. Thank you!"
"This is a wonderful stopping off point just on the Carlow-Kilkenny border. Hostess Caroline was extremely obliging, providing me with access to the room even though my roommate had gone out with the bedroom key. Breakfast was hearty and prompt. The only possible downside is the guesthouse's distance from a village & night life, though that may be a plus-point for some people! In any case, the telephone number for a local hackney service was on prominent display for guests. Where it counted - customer service, decor, cleanliness, amenities (our room had a shower in the attached en suite) - Barrow View excelled!"
