"Initial booking was efficient and a pleasure. I was advised to contact the "housekeeper" before arrival to arrange keys etc. This is where I started having concerns as I had no response despite numerous calls the 3-4 days before arrival. On the day of arrival, afain after a few calls my wife got though to the lady in question who was wondering why we were calling as the house had a security box with a code for the key. OK, no big deal. We found it and we got entry later on the first evening. We had my elderly mother in law with us so decided to make a cup of tea before bed. Kettle was filthy (it looked like someone had boiled a milky substance in it previously) We scrubbed it as best we could and boiled it again and pooed teabags on the teapot. (Teapot was filthy) as it was late we binned the tea and said we would deal with it tomorrow. Next morning I checked the dishes and cutlery and was disappointed so see they were also not clean and I tooks photographs to prove it. That annoyed us especially in the current climate as clearly care and attention had not been given to ensuring those items were spotless. We deep cleaned the cups, plates, etc along with bleaching the sink as they were not in a good state. 2 hours later we were ready to start our holiday. The cottage itself was cosy albeit it just didn't feel clean after our first day experience. Beds were comfy and we enjoyed our time in clifden, however we wouldn't book with Connemara Costal cottages again. The fact is up until we left to head to connemara everything was well dealt with, it was when we arrived it went downhill. I'm not blaming CC cottages for that as perhaps it is the housekeeper letting them down, hence my review. I will add they did buy and replace the kettle on the Monday"

"Avoid. Booked a cottage through this Agency. Arrived in Connemara on a Saturday evening at 20:00 after traveling from the East Coat of England. Phoned the landlady as instructed only to be told that the cottage was unavailable. The agency has no out of hours or emergency contact details. If it wasn't for the kindness of strangers we would have been sleeping in the car. Spent the following day (Sunday) looking for alternative accommodation. Eventually found something with another agency (Love Connemara who were brilliant). Spent the rest of the week wondering if Connemara Coastal Cottages would return our money. Got it back on the Friday but spent the week of stress wondering if these cowboys would actually return our money. We are lucky enough to be able to finance two cottages for a week but not everyone is. Use Love Connemara instead is my advice to you."
