Doolin Village Lodges , Tiergonean, County Clare

"Doolin Village Lodges looks great on the outside, however their Reservations and Revenue Manager, Ylonah, rudely bombarded our trip and left us no place to stay without notice. She cancelled our pre-booked honeymoon trip while we were enjoying our trip to Doolin because she wanted us to stay and pay for a longer amount of time - out of pure greed. I highly recommend working through somebody else so this doesn't happen to anyone again moving forward."

"We visited here from Friday to Monday, the lodges have everything you could need for a short or long stay, ours slept 6 adults comfortably, sitting room, kitchen diner, utility, 2 bathrooms. Very clean and friendly. Highly recommended."

"Considering the cost, there is little effort to make these houses welcoming or homely: cheap furniture, magnolia walls, laminate floors not even a bedspread on the beds. The functioning of the television defeated us. It was clean, but not as much as a teabag was left for arriving guests. A little effort would be nice, but other than cleaning, there is none in evidence."

"We stayed in lodge 12 which was a 2 storey lodge for 2 nights. I was very disappointed overall particularly as we paid such an extortionate price. When we arrived cars everywhere, we struggled to find parking outside our house. No sugar, teabags etc in house on arrival, no welcome pack at all. House looked lovely from outside but inside is a different story. The interior is very dated, dirty handprints on patio door in kitchen which I cleaned straight away. Broken drawers, cheap furniture, tiny television, WiFi is non existent and so frustrating. The upstairs bathroom reeked of urine, I wondered why the bathroom window was wide open we arrived. In the back yard, my kids found a trap which apparently the management have told me is a bait trip and common practice to have in back yard. It still left me uneasy about the possibility of rodents around. Doolin is very expensive overall for food, meals, drinks etc. Unfortunately we feel we will go abroad next year as our 2 nights in Doolin cost us so much, we would get an all Inclusive in a 5 star in Spain for similar money. I do love to support Irish business but unfortunately I was left feeling ripped off this summer so will be hopping on a plane next summer."
