"Typical Tesco store... well stocked and a great range of products..."
"I would not recommend if in hurry did the tesco scanners as I didn't have much time took me twice as long as the scanners are incredibly slow. Then when I went to checkout the scanner hadn't read 2 things and so all my groceries (which were a whole weeks worth for a whole family) had to be manually scanned. Not a pleasant experience at all. Will be going elsewhere in future."
"a decent store, sometimes the employees are nice and sometimes they're not as helpful"
"Very good selection excellent service highly recommend"
"Staff here make up their own policies with regards to purchasing alcohol. You’re only supposed to ask for ID if the customer looks under 25. This is even written on the tills and on the shelves in the alcohol section. However, there is one female member of staff who ignores Tesco policy and asks you for ID even if you’re in your 30s/40s. I would take it as a compliment but it was very clear to me that this woman did not truly believe I was a 17 year old girl and she was merely looking for an excuse to not allow me to purchase 4 beers. I actually started laughing when she asked me for ID because I am 31 and I look older. I gave her my ID and she stood there for a full two minutes reading it (again she was actively looking for any excuse not to let me purchase the beer). She finds to her shock and horror that my ID is one month out of date and she says “I can’t accept this ID it’s out of date” Can someone who works here please explain why you’re asking 30+ year olds for ID in the first place?? That is not the policy. My boyfriend is a year younger than me and she didn’t ask him. I see from other reviews I’m not the only person this happened to so this staff member obviously does this a lot. This was hands down the weirdest interaction I’ve ever had in any Tesco. I left without my shopping and went to a different shop instead where I was served my beers and no one asked me, a 31 year old woman, for ID. I would love to know why I was publicly embarrassed and made to feel like a criminal for attempting to purchase 4 beers as a THIRTY ONE year old woman? The woman was so rude about it and looked at me as though I was dirt on her shoe and spoke with an attitude like as if I’d just woken her up from a nap. The funniest thing is that I actually had ID as well, my passport was one month out of date. That doesn’t change the fact it’s ME in the photo and I was born in 1991. I’ll be back to buy my beers with my new passport. I look forward to it being inspected harder than it is when I leave the country."
