"What in your opinion makes a B&B outstanding? Is it cleanliness? Hospitality? Location? The breakfast? Well, Kilbawn Country House has it all--and more. We didn't realize how in demand the fewer B&Bs were post-pandemic and left finding lodging until after dinner. Kilkenny's B&B ladies worked their network and gave me Elizabeth's number at Kilbawn Country House. Because of a family event the following day, Elizabeth hadn't planned on welcoming guests that night, but realizing the hour, she couldn't turn us away and gave us directions since GPS was inaccurate for her location. We got lost, and before long, Elizabeth called to find out where we were. When I described the landmarks--Toyota dealership and McDonald's--she said park and Jim will be there momentarily. Imagine coming out at 11 p.m. to find two strangers and take them to your home for the night! Now about the home: It's lovely, set back with a wide lawn and flowers with Charlie the dog occasionally making an appearance, and the interior is--literally--spotless. Jim's breakfasts may qualify for a Michelin Bib Gourmand! Elizabeth packed us up with scones and her famous granny treats to hold us until dinner. We made the few mile location from Kilkenny our base and felt completely at home. Icing on the cake? Elizabeth and Jim's price was the lowest we encountered on our two week holiday."

She helped us arrange for our COVID tests for our return flight to the states...she even rode into town with us to get us to her "chemist" pharmacist for the test. My mom and I are so blessed to have met such GREAT people! We hope to return again!!"
