"I just got off the phone to Thomas yesterday. The most unpleasant and nasty man I've come across in a long time. My opening words were "Hello, I saw your ad on Daft and I'm wondering if there are any rooms left?" His response was "Let me tell you something. When someone answers the phone you're supposed to tell them your name straight away. There's some life advice for you." And then he went silent. I was a bit stunned to be honest as he was clearly snapping at me. So I asked him if he was a mad man and he hung up the phone."

"Wow!!!. What a weekend my wife and i just had. Magnificent country mansion set on 280 acres on the shore of the river Suir. Our hosts Thomas and Shirley were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. We were given free rein to go wherever we wanted on the property. The beds are the best i have ever slept in, but Shirley's breakfast was worth getting up for.We were made to feel like friends and not paying guests. Anybody looking for something a little different should give Rockett's Castle a try, you wont be disappointed."

"Downtown Abbey meets Fawlty Towers. That’s our best way to describe Rocketts Castle. A very enjoyable experience - a lovely country house with gardens running down to the River Suir. Newly opened as a boutique hotel it only serves breakfast at present but it was really good. The slightly eccentric host joins his guests at the 20 seat long table in the beautiful dining room for breakfast and is again in the bar at night. Lovely bedroom and a grand country house feel to all the rooms. Everyone most obliging. There’s a splendid self catering lodge with 4 or 5 bedrooms in the grounds."

"This is on a private estate... Not open to the public... I have since received a message from the owner "we have since opened as a guesthouse, with much more to come in the near future. " its a fabulous estate with a small castle and fishing lodge.. very well looked after. Definitely worth a stay in my opinion..."

"We had the pleasure of spending the weekend here, the house and guesthouse is first class and set in a fantastic surroundings. Thomas and Shirley make all guests feel extremely welcome and give first class service. Shirleys breakfast is amazing, she has great knowledge of the area and really goes out of her way to help you. We will be back for another stay soon."
