"We stayed at the Walcot last summer, 2019. A beautifully kept place still reminiscent of its Georgian past. We had a couple of large rooms for four of us, two adults and two kids, 8 and 6. Within a stonesthrow of the Castle grounds and 5 minutes from the town centre. Great gardens with a nice play area and a happy, yappy dog! Must just mention the breakfast too, absolute delight! It also has a magic gate in the garden which I told my kids was how the faeries got in...see below."
"Brilliant staff, lovely decor and a very friendly and inviting setting. This is the place I will stay any time in the future when visiting Birr. Beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very spacious. Breakfast was top notch both mornings aswell. "Gorgeous Georgian B&B at a great price - because it's in Birr, not Dublin. Beautiful building, easy parking, delicious breakfast. Good sized room - my mum & I had a twin - and a free standing bath (with lots of hot water). Quiet rooms. We went to Sanjay's Kitchen for a really good Indian meal in the evening - walking distance from the B&B When I put Townparks into my satnav, it took me to the wrong end of Birr, so don't do that. Put Rosse Row in instead."
