"I cannot recommend a stay Fanningstown Castle highly enough. And our wonderful experience began many months in advance, with gracious and detailed communication from Mary. The castle and accomodations are as pictured, but what the photos cannot capture is the MAGIC! You'll enjoy sunsets from the roof, a fire in the evenings, and being enveloped in the lush countryside. EASY, excellent location for visiting numerous sites (Cliffs of Moher, Adare, Ballybunion Beach, Killarney, and arriving easily from Shannon Airport). The spotless rooms and bathrooms are thoughtfully appointed with quality linens and antiques. Mary has thought of everything: stocking the fridge with breakfast essentials, wine, and fruit. Firewood and coal was kept well-supplied. I highly recommend booking a catered dinner with Chef Anne Lloyd. Mary can assist in making arrangements. I could go on and on, but if you are considering any type of family/friends stay or special occasion in Ireland, absolutely don't hesitate in booking Fanningstown Castle for memories that last a lifetime."

"Really unique experience, a modern house inside the walls of a castle. I've never been anywhere like it. The hosts are great, the location is remote enough to be peaceful but close enough to Adare and Limerick to have lots of places to eat / things to do. If you have a chance to stay here your kids ( and your inner kid ) will love it. Highly recommended"

"There are not enough adjectives in the world to describe how amazing Mary and Dave at Fanningstown Castle are. When my husband and I decided to get married in Ireland, we didn’t exactly know what we were getting ourselves into. By google search we found Fanningstown Castle, and instantly fell in love. I wanted a specific date, and thankfully it was available, so we had 6 months to plan. Mary helped us with everything single step. She gave me multiple recommendations for local wedding vendors, restaurants, taxi services etc. and everyone we used was absolutely wonderful. Mary and Dave even helped setting up on the day of the wedding. I could not believe how beautiful our reception table looked when I walked in. The room was transformed in a matter of minutes! If you are looking for a small intimate place to stay and/or have your wedding, then look no further, Fanningstown is the best. Mary made wedding planning easy! Even if you are not getting married, Fanningstown is such a beautiful and unique place to stay. With 5 rooms there was plenty of space for our group of 10 who stayed at the castle and party of 15 all together. We enjoyed Adare so much and we will definitely be back in the future!"

"Our family stayed a week in June 2013. Mary and David were absolutely lovely. We had a wonderful time and our super fabulous digs were the highlight of the trip. We used the castle as home base for day trips all over the south and southwest of Ireland. The castle is amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. The kitchen is great, pantry well stocked, furnishings gorgeous, spiral stair case and turrets for your inner princess, enormous beds complete with bed curtains- no kidding, there was even a plastic knight's sword for my eight year old...It was far and away the best value of our trip. The hosts are lovely and ridiculously patient with their guests. We can't wait to return. I cannot recommend Fanningstown Castle highly enough. We did Dromoland one year at Christmas and it was lovely, but, hands down, we would come back to Fanningstown every time!"
