"Really enjoyable tour. We had an intimate tour of the facility with just 2 of us in the party. Have done a number of other distillery tours and tastings in the country and this was by far the most informative."
"We booked the tour and tasting to this distillery as part of our Irish travels in October 2022. We’d just missed the Skellig tours to the islands for the season, but still wanted to do the Ring of Kerry drive and see the islands from the Cliffs. The distillery is very easy to find and get to (we took a rental car), and the distillery is gorgeous. We were warmly welcomed, and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and good-humoured. While the whiskey is still in production, the tasting (an add-on feature) included both whiskey and gin. The distillery is still growing in stages due to delays from COVID, but the visitor tour is well worth the time and cost to see an up and coming business grow on the edge of Ireland’s coast."
"Made an impromptu stop at Skellig Six18 distillery while touring the Ring of Kerry. Our family of four purchased the gin and whiskey tasting. Our two kids, ages 8 and 11, loved our tour guide Cathal as much (if not more) than my wife and I did! We learned some of the history surrounding the area and all about the distilling process for both the gin Skellig Six18 currently produces and the whiskey they will be producing soon. We all really enjoyed the discussion about the local ingredients used to make their gin unique, and the hands on demonstration of how the ingredients smell and alter the taste of the gin. The gin itself was fantastic. Smooth without the overpowering juniper/pine taste that usually turns me away from gin and gin drinks. The whiskey has potential, and the next time we are back in Ireland from the States, we will definitely find a way to taste it! Overall a great experience that we really enjoyed. Don’t shy away from visiting with kids. Ours were welcomed and treated wonderfully. Cheers to all those who made our visit great, and we hope to see Skellig Six18 in the States soon!"
"Excellent tour and nice gin tasting, we loved all the items in the shop and will return once they also produce irish wiskey !"
"On Saturday some of our members had a social outing down to South Kerry. First stop was a tour of the Skellig Six 18 Distillery in Cahersiveen, where some of our members learned all about gin and whiskey distilling... And even got a few samples to try which were very tasty! Special thanks to our tour guide Cathal who showed us round on the tour of the facilities and gave us a great insight into the production processes and equipment. Highly recommend a visit here to check out the tour which was great value.. and their are some great gifts to purchase in their gift shop too! A must if you are visiting Cahersiveen and looking for things to do."
