"Terrible service, terrible food. We were from out of town and it was obvious that we were not wanted. The locals who sat next to us and who ordered the same food 10 minutes after we ordered were served 20 minutes ahead of us—-yes it took 35 minutes to get our food and they never even finished our first round of drink orders and didn’t check back until a few minutes before our food arrived. Exceptionally rude staff and food was awful. They should be ashamed"
"place seemed empty which was a red flag but we assumed it was just because it was only 5PM, not quite time for dinner rush yet... wish we'd taken the hint. drinks from tap tasted like the pipes hadn't been cleaned in ages. food was overpriced, and did not match the way it was described - "sautéed prawns" actually are breaded & fried, "grilled fish of the day" actually barely cooked and drowned in a strange mayonnaise sauce (why was the fish of the day hake? hake is everywhere, it does *not* warrant being called THE fish of the day special). also, the decor was so strange and almost unsettling... maybe an attempt to distract from the quality of the food & drinks. we got precooked pasta from supervalue for €3 the next day and it was a million times better than this. save your €80 for a place worth the price. (2 stars instead of 1 only because the prawns were actually decent, even though they were not at all what was advertised)"
"Best meal we’ve had so far during our stay in Cork. We came upon this bar and restaurant while visiting Cobh for the day. They had seats available outside, which are great when the weather is lovely. The staff were great and the food was delicious! We had the chicken burger and chicken curry for dinner and fun on the beach and a pint of guinness for drinks. We will definitely be back again next time!"
"The food was okay. Got the job done, but was hoping for a bit more given the price. The service was very good tho."
"For lunch I had the Harbour Catch of the Day, grilled and with potatoes and vegetables and it was a substantial serve. My partner had the deep-fried haddock in beer batter with fries and salad but said after wards that she would have preferred the fish of the day. The Commodore Hotel is a beautiful Victorian building. It's in a great waterfront location, the food reasonably priced, and the wait staff very friendly."
