"My friend and I booked to stay here at the last minute. The photos looked great. When we arrived there was no reply at the door so my friend phoned Harry. He said he was out for an hour but gave her the code to the keysafe where he said there was a key. Code put into keysafe but there was no key. My friend phoned again and was told to go round the back again where we had parked the car. So we trudged with all our bags back to the rear gate where we were told to pull the wire and the gate would open and the back door was open. We went into the kitchen and went to our room. I came down to make a drink after our long trip and saw Harry who said he had come back for his car key as he was locked out of his car. He told me to take the cups from the top shelf and leave the dirty ones on the tray. I did this and took the cups to our room which was clean but very small. I noticed only two bathrooms clean but very basic. We took our cups down to place in the tray but noticed there was no sink in the kitchen and the water was dispensed from two open topped 5 litre bottles. We went outside to bring another bag in and the yard was littered with dog mess. This was totally unacceptable. We stayed for two nights and had paid up front else we would have left. The first day of our stay we went to the fridge to find a 500gm pack of butter which was completely mouldy which we threw a way. I had some cornflakes but the cutlery in the main was dirty and as there was no sink you could not wash them so I had to scald it over a dirty cup by the water from the kettle. On our way back from the first night I popped into the Spar to purchase some butter as it was quite unacceptable for everyone to use the same butter. The final morning of our stay we came down and there was no clean cups to have a drink before we left so we went without any breakfast that day. We sent Harry a personal review and his reply was there were no issues. I would never stay at this place again as the outside was filthy and rundown. The bedroom was clean but would benefit from having cups and a kettle in the room as there was a sink in it. I have never seen a kitchen before with no sink or running water and it was not even bottled water to make tea as the bottles were well used and just filled up as and when. If you don't mind roughing it the place is OK but would definitely stay there again."
