"I went to Lydia from the COCO College of Beauty yesterday for a facial and she was fantastic! The facial was so lovely and she was a really warm, pleasant beauty therapist! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and she made me feel so at ease. The Clinic and College were both gorgeous inside and I love that COCO offer this service through their college. I have no doubt Lydia will make a fantastic beauty therapist, Best of luck to her and all the others, I'll defo be back!!"

"I went to Coco Beauty Spa and Clinic, Ballincollig two days ago. The worker on reception was very friendly and was able to fit me in for a nail appointment twenty minutes later. My y boyfriend had proposed to me that morning, and I wanted to get my nails done at short notice to take some nice pictures to show the ring to my family and friends. I was very excited and everything was wonderful. I met the nail technician and I picked out a colour. Unfortunately, I picked out a colour that looked light on the outside of the bottle, but was a bit darker once applied. This could be understandably frustrating for the techinician, as she had already painted two nails at that stage and had to start again. I apologised, and she seemed fine with this until we sat down with the final chosen shade. She quickly applied the polish and did not make conversation. Once the colour was applied, I asked if a nail could be touched up as the colour was a bit streaky on the side. She replied to me, rather sternly: "You won't see that after the gloss has been applied on top." Following that, she painted over a nail that had been accidentally smudged by the protective glove she had been wearing. The result being of a lumpy texture. I said nothing as I could sense her tension. She continued: "There will always be streaks with nude shades. I cannot paint a nude shade without streaks. It's science fiction." I still sat, feeling talked down to, and said nothing. No more than a minute passed until she looked up at me with an aggressive expression and said: "What's wrong?" I did not even know what to say. I was in shock, feeling increasingly uncomfortable, and I just had the desire to leave. Then, what shocked me the most was what she said next: "Would you like me to take it all off." I muttered: "Okay", with my head down in sadness, while thinking: this is a big day for me. I was so happy and excited to get my nails done. I only mentioned about one nail I wanted to get touched up. I said nothing about the rest, although I could have. I tried to say it in the most inoffensive manner, yet she took major offense. She concluded our appointment by saying: "At least your cuticles are clean now." (I had some red varnish at the sides from a past application, that she removed). She smiled sarcastically. I stood up and went to the front of the salon. What was this reaction, I thought? I had simply indicated to a part of ONE of my nails that the technician had missed. From that followed an immensely abusive reaction. I was a customer that would be handing over money for this, and the job wasn't satisfactory. It is my consumer rights to say this without receiving such hostility. The nail technician followed behind me to the front of the salon and said in a frustrated tone to her colleague who was at reception: "There will be no charge. We did nothing." The lady at reception turned to me and asked: "Was everything okay?" In tears at that stage I replied "no", and asked her if I could see the manager as I was treated in a horrible manner by her colleague. She kindly informed me that the manager was away until Wednesday and that I should call her on Wednesday (today). I did, and I was informed that she was with a client and that I would get a call back from her when she was free. I have received no call back yet. I believe it is completely unacceptable to speak to a client like this, for whatever reason. It took me some time for me to stop crying and finally explain to my fiancee what had happened. This was the first and only time I visited this salon. As far as I could see all other workers were pleasant and helpful. However, I would seriously encourage anyone to refrain from getting their nails done at this salon, as this is not the kind of attitude any paying client should be met with. I was immensely saddened on Monday, now I just want to ensure that no one will receive the same treatment I received, especially if it is on such a special day, as it was for me."
