"I was the victim of burglary at home. Police report etc etc. Davis Group Ltd were assigned on behalf of Churchill to help with the settlement. They dragged their feed as much as they could: I never had a call back from them even though they'd often say they would call me. They would just hang up a call after 30 min of wasted conversation. They'd often come up with stupid settlement offers, not researching my stolen items properly and offering incredibly cheap and nasty replacements. They'd lose vital information and miss-document reports on the stolen goods. It's been months now and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. An absolute nightmare to deal with. Thanks for this bad experience Churchill, I'm pretty sure your nodding dog would have done a better job here."
"If I could give it non I would. Claim still ongoing 6 months after the cancellation of holiday. They’ve lost documents twice and I’ve been lied to on the phone, proven lies, further complaint still ongoing. Do not use or trust this company. You’d be safer insuring with Daves Dodgy insurance ltd!"
"My husband booked a surprise 4 night break for my 76th birthday with Sykes Cottages and took the Insurance offered online just incase there was another Covid situation. On the night before we were due to go I unfortunately went down badly with food poisoning resulting in having to cancel as I was too Poorly to travel. He cancelled and the office sent him a link for completion of the claim document which was also completed by my GP. Everything was forwarded by Recorded Mail and acknowledged by email saying we would hear within 15 working days. Which is now well passed. Have tried to make contact with this company via email to see how things are progressing but they are just not engaging. Finding this very stressful as this was also our first break for many years. Reading the comments on here it appears they have a bad reputation for this sort of practice. At this moment in time would not recommend others to take out this insurance with this Company. it would appear pointless. The customer liaison is not good."
"Where to start? Absolutely appalling company. Ceiling collapsed due to a roof leak in August, reported straight away to Source Insurance who pass on the claims handling to this absolute shower of a company. Subsequently had the same experience as 90% of the people on here - lost emails, please resend documents, we'll send someone to have a look etc. Finally got someone out 3 weeks ago and then heard nothing. Explained multiple times that there are young children in the house and the current situation is dangerous. I chased this morning and was told someone was going to call me on 15th October but they had a 'phone outage'. Then nothing for 16 days! Now been told the ceiling collapsed due to wear and tear! I have had an independent builder already confirm it was due to the leak (and sent that report to Davies Group in August!). Looks like it's time (like many on here) for the Financial Ombudsman......"
"DIN’T go near them. Wouldn’t give 1 star. Would give minus 10. This firm are atrocious. Been with CETA for 5 years, policy apparently with Arkel, unbeknown to us they outsource policies to The Davies Group. We had an incident with our caravan in July where the overhead window cracked, leaking into the van and inside the window just as we arrived on holiday! We have spent three months phoning, emailing and messaging. We’ve done all the communicating. They had a quote from our dealership and an independent engineers report. They wanted another. Their ‘independent’ engineer does all their reports, didn’t visit the van just looked at photos and declared it was a warranty issue. Insurance eventually agreed with our report it was caused by extreme heat! After being out back for a response and decision 3 times, they said this week it would be 3 working days so Thursday. They said Friday!! No reply, husband phoned them today, they are not paying up!!! Said it’s ‘atmospheric pressure’ therefore not covered!! DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY!!! We are going with The Caravan Club next, more honest and if we have to pay more so be it. We are furious. 20 years of paying caravan insurance with no claims!!"
