Reviews
"parking is a bit of a faff, and noise from street can be a tad noisey, but staff very helpful and friendly, could do with a chair in the bedrooms, some fittings were losely connected, TV and WiFi were fine."
"Stayed for the night in an emergency when Storm Eunice prevented Wightlink Car Ferry from crossing. Wightlink very poor communication and service. There were 4 adults a 1 year old and 4 year old travelling with us. We managed to get a last minute booking at 5.40 pm. The owners, who do not live on site, welcomed us; were friendly and chatty. We had two rooms, both ensuite. The rooms were basic, clean, comfortable, tea and coffee in room, tv, hot shower and no signs of spiders which is always a big plus for me. Use of communal kitchen. Parking on site a bit squishy but all cars fitted on. Well stocked Co op 3 minute walk away. A safe haven in trying times, very grateful we were able to be accommodated. Thank you."
"Basic but clean. There is a shared kitchen facility so you can cook which is good as most hotel stays mean you must eat out. Beds are comfy and our room had an en suite and telly as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Free parking on site and in a good location."
"Paid a premium due to staycations for one room with a double, one with 3/4 beds. The double room had no window, was springs not a mattress and we both had chronic backache after the first night. We were offered a blanket to put under the mattress protector and other guests have obviously had the same experience. No proper kitchen to use, sink plug didn’t work, offered use of communal kitchen. Basically as expected they have packed as many people in there as possible."
"I had an excellent stay here for 2 nights at the end of May. It is only 2 stars so it's nothing fancy or special but the accommodation was clean and although we arrived very late, the owners made sure that we could retrieve our keys to the property. The best thing about this place is that it's very close, within walking distance, to Ryde, it's town centre and the beaches there. The parking at the lodge is limited but there are some free road parking available within close proximity. The bathroom area isn't very nice but everything works and the place is perfect for a few nights stay on a budget if you're going to be spending most of the time outdoors anyway. Also, the walls were paper thin, and you could hear the reception and other guests pretty clearly which could be a problem if you're sensitive to noise. But all in all, the place is fine if you're not expecting too much."
