"I take the cab so can't tell the walking distance from the closest rail station but it should be a few minutes walk from the road sign. The room is clean but small as expected. Yet the shower is good : hot and strong current if you like. However a staff seems don't understand the meaning (should be a language issue) of making up a bed while the others did it. You can borrow a kettle with deposit GBP5 which is fair. The TV is a little bit small and the remote works not very well. It would be better if they offer a small fridge. However a big Tesco is just 15 seconds walk (yes seconds) and KFC, Macdonald's and Subway just in front of the hotel so you should be fed all the time (until 1 am) For the staff service you can't expect much but the evening seems more friendly than the morning. Well it is usually if you get what you want but how it is answered. But I do not mean any response is ruth ir impolite"

"Great value. Room was clean, sheets were clean, bathroom fine with dispenser soap and good towels. Hangers for coats, table and stool. Separate toilet to shower cubicle and loo roll provided. Corridors and lift clean and tidy. Reception staff welcoming and helpful. Parking available and if full can park in BnQ carpark nearby, but we got a space right outside. Location is great as can use train to get to Gun Wharf or the centre and there are buses not far too. We could walk to Southsea easily but taxis also come quickly if required. All in all great stay for great price."

"Very nice. Visited in Nov.22. Nice hotel in a good location within easy reach of local amenities. Good size free car park with EV charge points available however most of them were ICE'd. If you need a charge point, like I did, contact the hotel and ask them to reserve one for you. This worked for me. Hotel is clean and tidy. Room was very clean and fresh, however the colour scheme and basic facilities in the room give off a hospital room vibe....further empathised by our room having an accessible bathroom / wet room. Linen was lovely and fresh and the beds were comfortable. There is no tea making facilities but I think you may be able to get a kettle from reception. Breakfast is continental style with a wide range of products on offer e.g. toast, cereal, pastries, cold meat, cheese, tea and coffee, all buffet style. Well worth the extra to include breakfast. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you need to stay in the area."

"Excellent room rate made is pick this. The rooms are very compact but our family of three managed for three nights. The only complaint was the rooms were very hot and made sleeping awkward. Staff very helpful and courteous and parking was invaluable."

"Basic being the operative word. We stayed for 1 night after a long drive prior to a ferry crossing the following morning. The rooms were gloomy and in need of a good clean, the whole building was smelly and felt grubby, there were holes in the walls where doors had been banged open against them. There were no basic tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, however for a £5 deposit you could hire a kettle from reception, given the overall cleanliness we opted not to bother. One of the rooms we had booked smelt of sewage and was fortunately changed upon request. I would definitely opt to pay a bit more and stay elsewhere in future. The staff were friendly and helpful but it wasn't for us."
