About the Business
Welcome to the Spinnaker Tower, a one-of-a-kind tourist attraction located in the heart of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. Standing tall at 170 metres (560 feet), the Spinnaker Tower is an iconic landmark that offers spectacular panoramic views of Portsmouth Harbour, the Solent, and the Isle of Wight.
Built in 2005, the Spinnaker Tower is a magnificent engineering feat designed by the renowned British architects HGP Greentree Allchurch Evans. Its spire-like appearance gives it a dynamic and elegant look and makes it a point of interest for locals and tourists alike. The Spinnaker Tower is an establishment proud of its heritage and futuristic design, which attracts people from all over the world who appreciate exceptional architecture.
Inside the Tower, you will find three observation decks offering stunning 360-degree views: The first deck, the View Deck, is accessible through a high-speed internal lift and offers a bird's eye view of the city of Portsmouth. The second deck, the Sky Deck, is an open-topped viewing platform, where you can immerse yourself in the fresh coastal breeze and witness the dramatic views of the Solent and beyond. On the third floor, you will find the Clouds Café, the perfect stop for a light snack or a refreshing beverage while enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
The Tower is also home to the Glass Floor walk, which enables visitors to experience the feeling of walking on air 100 metres above sea level. As the floor is transparent, you can see straight down to the street below. This creates a thrilling, yet safe, experience like no other.
Apart from the stunning views and observation decks, the Spinnaker Tower offers a range of events and experiences, such as High Tea at 100 metres high, a Handlebar Experience, an Immersive Cinema, and even a Ghost Tour.

"A great place to visit at least once in your lifetime. The area is very clean, well maintained and plenty of security. There lots of shops, places to eat and plenty to see. Lots of car parking in the area. People seem friendly enough. Have an afternoon tea in the Spinnaker, the food was lovely, the view amazing and the staff really helpful and happy to help. Lots to explore beyond the Historic dock yard."
"Brilliant experience. Slightly terrifying if heights bother you. Views of Portsmouth were fantastic, even on a cloudy morning. The glass floor! Wow! I eventually drummed up courage to walk across. But very safe. Staff were very helpful and kind. Yes you get the lift up. But you will need to walk up stairs to upper cafe, which is lovely and sky garden. It’s all got glass, so no safety worries. No outside glass lift though. Will visit again. Good shop too."
"Visited the tower with my partner and our 3-year-old daughter. We booked in advance but there were no queues anyway, on a bright and clear Saturday. A member of staff gives you a brief bit of background as you take the lift up to the first viewing platform. There are 2 talking telescopes for £1 a go, though one wasn't working but I assume they tell the same story. There is also a commemorative coin machine to make your own souvenir. The glass floor is fun to walk over and a great photo opportunity. You can then climb some internal stairs to the next floor where there's a cafe where most patrons we're having high tea. It's enclosed by large windows so you can enjoy the view still. If you want to eat here you'll need to book. We just sat for a refreshment whilst taking in the view. You can then climb another set of stairs to another viewing platform. This is partially enclosed by large glass panels, with an opening with netting above your head. Again the views were fantastic and plenty of photo opportunities."
"We were incredibly lucky with the weather. Besides sunshine, it was also very clear with good visibility. We took advantage of that, of course. Fantastic view in all directions from the bird's eye view. The glass floor is only for the brave and those who don't suffer from vertigo."
"Had the high tea which was very nice. Lots of cakes. Not sure about the sandwiches. It was for my mum and dad's golden wedding anniversary. I will not do the high tea myself again as I am not a great fan of cake. Think they do something in the morning if that is savoury then I might try that if I could get a group together. The views of the area are very good."
