"Friendly, well organised and professional staff. I had some dental work done at the Downshire practice and there was nothing bad to say about the experience. I definitely recommend if you're looking a new dentist."
"Friendly, professional and competent dentists. Well equipped surgery."
"Growing up my dentist was Dr O’Reilly, which due to his incompetence and negligence resulted in years of severe, unimaginable pain, health problems and tens of thousands of pounds in dental surgeries elsewhere. I cannot describe the inadequacies of this dentist, it is absolutely absurd in my opinion that this individual can be classified as a dentist. There is no reason or justification around his actions, nor any sense behind his position in the practice. When I was of a very young age, I broke my front tooth in an accident, as a result nerve damage occurred therefore a root canal was required, followed by the procedure of rebuilding the front tooth. This as I’m an fully aware is a complicated procedure, which is clearly out of scope for Dr O’Reilly. The root canal is was not performed which was as anyone can imagine not pleasant, followed by the re-building of the lower tooth, which many poor techniques where used, which resulted in many painful visitings to the dentist. All these poor methods and countless poor dental surgeries resulted in personal psychological issues. Once all the surgeries including the root canal was completed, I had a severe amount of pain in the front section of my mouth continuously. My parents brought me back time and time again regarding the pain I was complaining about to Dr O’Reilly, where he kept insisting it was all in my head, a mental delusion, as the nerve had been removed from the front tooth. This pain I endured was nothing short of hell, I continuously complaint to my parents regarding it; Time and time again they brought me back to Dr O’Reilly where he continued to argue the pain I was experiencing was psychological. As I was a child and had no other methods to resolve this extraordinary pain, therefore I learned to live with it and manage it. After countless visits to Dr O’Reilly I was under the impression that it was normal, that I was suppose to feel like I was going to pass out with pain after eating or all those sleepless excruciating nights where as expected many years after the dental surgeries I endured. Daily life was definitely a challenge, but when you are a child you don’t have a lot of options, you don’t know better at that age. Children under 18 are eligible on the NHS to get dental orthodontic treatments covered. My teeth, all of my teeth where severely crooked and crowding, without a structured closed bite, very much in need of a brace and elastics, verified by any other dentist and any other individual with sight, although Dr O’Reilly had convinced my parents otherwise, and would not create any referral for any orthodontic treatment. I had weight issues in my early-late teens as I struggled to eat due to my incredibly sensitive and painful teeth issues. As as a result of this I was severely underweight for most of my life, and in my late teen years I was hit with meningitis, which was the challenge of my life, due to my physical condition of being severely underweight. After countless, defined to the closest thousand, complains regarding sensitivity and pain, another dentist was able to prove that the primary root canal treatment was unsuccessful, as nerve elements remained, therefore causing serve pain. It was justification, evidence and salvation. I underwent another root canal treatment, followed by a required dental implant due to incompetence of Dr O’Reilly at the time. After this was completed I had no pain in present in my mouth, at idle or eating, something I had not experienced since I was 7 years old. Currently I am in the process of a ceramic brace, I really can’t believe I’ve teeth I’m proud of, I never thought this would be possible. Dr O’Reilly has cost me over £15,000 in dental care, and countless values in pain and psychological issues. I have been recommended to take legal action against the practice, however one step at a time, recovery is my current priority."
