"Last minute meal with the wife, I had the Bistecca al Pepe which was cooked exactly the way I like it. The meal was good but it did very much feel like I was sat in a Frankie & Bennys who previously occupied the premises. It would be nice for Pascos to stamp their own branding to the place. Have to say though the steak was far better than I expected at the price point they offer it at. In all a pleasant meal. ***UPDATE*** visited again and had the same meal for comparison to last time, equally delicious. Raising to 5 stars."
"Having just left Pasco's, I wish we had never gone in. Having presented itself as an authentic independent Italian restaurant, the red flags wave when you realise they bought a Frankie & Benny's and haven't even changed the CD let alone the seats and the ceiling decor. Presentation aside, I'm sat here wondering if I'd feel better about the meal I just ate if I threw it up on the side of the road. The quality wouldn't be much different and it would be out of my body. It's that "I finished it because I was hungry, but in retrospect I'd rather be hungry" vibe. You can't go far wrong making a garlic bread with cheese, except I think they mistook the garlic for oil, with very little of the former and the latter dripping off the slices. I had high hopes for the aubergine roulade, but wasn't expecting it to come straight from the fridge; I've never before wished I had a steak knife to get through aubergine! The bread was frankly an insult. I could have strolled over to Lidl and brought something better back. With cold Italian antipasti, the bread is important. It needs to be crusty and vaguely fresh. Mine was simultaneously spongy, dry and difficult to swallow. The only positive I have to say about the whole meal was that I do believe the mozzarella was buffalo; it had flavour. My wife's Salsiccia Napoli looked promising, but the soggy bruschetta was an instant turn off. With a sausage to sauce ratio of a bag of tennis balls lost at sea, and wildly over-rich oily sauce, most of what came out of the kitchen went back again once the Expedition of the Lost Sausage came to its conclusion. Her "Sizzling" main course was neither sizzling, nor fulfilling and certainly did not warrant the £15 price tag. As for my fettuccine con prosciutto.. I'm still debating whether to leave it where I put it. ASDA price ingredients at best. The texture of the pasta was odd, the sauce mediocre, and full of overcooked peas that might even have come from a tin; each bite leaving a grainy crumbly bitter taste. The less said about my wife's side plate the better. Oven chips and a massive splodge of coleslaw which ruined her desire to even taste the reasonably looking salad that had coleslaw splashed all over it from when it was nonchalantly dropped onto the plate from a height. Does Pasco's serve authentic Italian food? No. Does it serve authentic food? No. Does it serve food? I guess you can call it food, but I'd rather go hungry. Should you ever go and give them fifty of your hard earned poundingtons for an evening for two. Not on your or anyone else's nelly."
"We visited as a party of 7 on a Saturday afternoon. Pre booked and arrived to a warm friendly welcome from staff. Brilliant service and fantastic food we all really enjoyed our meals we could not fault anything! Would definitely recommend. We will be returning again shortly for sure. Thankyou Pascos."
