"The bass on the music speakers are broken due to it probably being too loud, the sound vibrating sound goes right through you. Staff could be a little more welcoming. The bathrooms were of an unacceptable standard. Even if you’re busy, they should not be unattended to be left in that state. Good selection on food menu but seems overpriced. The building is beautiful though."
"Really lovely pub, lots of character and friendly feel. The staff are welcoming and friendly and after booking a table we were sat by great fire and had an amazing roast dinner. This is in every sense a great British pub and will be back. The only thing missing was music…… in my opinion music adds to a welcoming environment. I think because they have a juke box they are asking people to feed it. I think this is a mistake and one that might influence our decision to return, and I’m sure others as I could hear other diners mention the fact it was so quiet and where was the music."
"We were made extremely welcome and all through our stay the service was great. A fantastic choice of real ales and lagers and a reasonable wine selection. All this in a beautiful building, well worth a visit and having just moved to the area we will probably make this our local"
"Lovely old historic pub. Went in Sunday afternoon for drink. Sat in pretty garden with dog. Friendly, nice atmosphere."
"Visited on a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. The pub has an incredible amount of character, owing to it being a 17th century pub in the heart of Havant. Anyone visiting the area really owes it to themselves to visit! This historic building comes complete with authentic beams, low ceilings, a beautiful bar and the welcome, cosy addition of LED light strings to complement the area. The staff were lovely; very friendly and willing to chat. The toilets were pleasant-smelling and clean, if only a tad small, but that comes with the character of the building so it can't be helped! This is a Fuller's pub, so the food offerings are a tad more refined than the average "pub grub", but not so much that they seem snobbish. I had one of the chef's specials - Scampi and chips - which was spot on in terms of temperature, taste and presentation. My partner was also very happy with his Chalcroft Farm beef burger. I can't so much comment on the drinks selection, as I am certainly no expert."
