Reviews
"Sadly this review is not so much against the park but the car park company COUNTRY WIDE CAR PARKS. Their ticket machine was broken the day i was there. I told the staff. I recall them either saying not worry or we will charge you here on the computer. Didnt think any more of it as we were more excited about activities at the park. Couple if weeks latet I get a very expensive parking fine. I appealed this explaining the situation, this was not accepted. Neither the park or car park company knew how to confirm that the ticket machine was broken. So now I am stuck with a large parking fine I refuse to pay and this whole ordeal has ruined the Aqua park experience."
"* WOULD HAVE BEEN 5 STARS IF NOT FOR THE PARKING CON * The water park was great. We went paddle boarding and had a lovely time. Good facilities, friendly staff and the place had a really good atmosphere. Sadly, the park choses to be associated with Countrywide Parking, who have a business model with all the morals of loan shark. The parking signs are clear and legible, no problem here. I downloaded the app, as instructed, in an attempt to pay. My payment wouldn't go through. The money was in my account so that wasn't the problem, and another person was having the same problem with the app at the same time as me. I then called the number advertised to pay. My payment went through fine and I was asked to text my registration number, which I did. I received confirmation. All was ok, as far as I thought. 2.5 hours after we had left the park, I received a text to say an active booking could not be found. I checked my bank account, and the payment was pending, so I assumed this was an error. I then received two parking fine notices in the post. Sending two is a classic tactic from disgusting firms like this, designed to subtly intimidate people. I appealed the fine on the basis I paid (at least I thought I did) in good faith and I can't be held responsible for the failure of their technology. I received a speedy response saying my appeal was unsuccessful, with a template reply stating the signs are very clear about charges needing to be paid to park. I wasn't disputing this, so I'm fairly sure my appeal wasn't even read. Again, this is a tactic by companies like this as it's impossible to discuss the fine with a person over the phone and you can only appeal to them once. You then need to go to the regulator to appeal which is a lengthy process, which will undoubtedly cause stress and anxiety for the person appealing. The fine will increase during this time as well. Countrywide know people will not bother at this point and simply pay the £50. It's a great little earner. Fine, ignore legitimate appeals as standard, watch the money roll in. It's a vile way to make money. I really didn't want to give 1 star, but by employing these cowboys, the Aqua Park are guilty by association. Reading the reviews, they are obviously aware Countrywide Parking are shysters, but continue to work with them. For anyone going to the park, there is a 'normal' ticket machine at the opposite end of the car park to where you drive in, behind the snack bar. This isn't very clear. The signs to use the app and phone number are dotted around everywhere. The cynic in me suggested this is by design. I really hope the Aqua Park see sense and ditch Countrywide Parking, use a reputable firm or operate the car park themselves. Clearly, I'm not the only person to have a very nice experience ruined by the greed of the faceless parking management company."
"I'm glad to say I have changed my review. I was originally disappointed and my review tainted by a parking fine for overstaying. However the Water Park have cancelled the fine, which I think is a triumph of pragmatism. I would still stay don't underestimate how long it will take to strip out of your wetsuit folks and warn people that you are being logged by cameras as you enter the park as per other reviews. Overall the park is well run, staff are pleasant and some go out of their way, the facilities are a good standard and the Aquapark was fun, but The Blob too small. Will go back (now)."
"We went here to go to the water park for a fun activity at the end of the school holidays. It was one hour that my kid loved, and we both were absolutely exhausted on the way home. I fell in after being there for a minute and soon realised that any thoughts of making a dignified attempt at getting back on board was futile and had to be hoisted back on by passing adults. I equally played this forward to others. The lifeguards were very attentive and I did feel safe with them there. The lockers are quite small so for a family you would need a few of them but we stashed our stuff in the car and they will look after you car keys behind the bar and this is done very safely. You have to pay for parking and you can do this at reception and its not extortionate The only thing I would say is once you have put everything away there is no way to check the time apart from asking someone as you can't wear watches so they could do with putting a clock up somewhere. There are also massive fish that you can paddle in the pool with provided you have wet shoes and a bouyancy aid on. All in all a good day out"
"I didn’t had the booking or anything I just accidentally joined my friend who went swimming. I was very lucky I managed to get lesson on 5 of August Friday evening on system 2.0 with very good coach, (sorry I forgot her name). It was first time ever and I believe it went very well. Definitely coming back for more lessons, I know it’s expensive, but definitely worth it!!! Also all bar/reception and equipment staff very nice and helpful. Really enjoyed experience!"
