"A beautiful place to visit at anytime of the year. It’s great to escape the hustle & bustle that’s happening not too far away. Either park at Mansbridge (drive through the White Swan car park & park on the old road, either side of the pub) or park at Bitterne Park & start your walk from Cobden Bridge. You can walk along the river & it’s tarmac so no mud, easy for wheelchairs, buggies & bikes. Cross the road at Woodmill & continue along the river, or you can stop for refreshments at the cafe on Woodmill. It’s point to point so wherever you leave your car you have to return more or less the same way but not a bad thing."
"Plenty of to do and football pitches. Children parks and skate park. Plenty of places to walk the dogs and feed swans and birds. Welcoming place. Lovely to take the kids ."
"Great for a couple of hours walk near the river."
"This is a great place for a walk alongside the River Itchen. It’s the other side of the road from the Woodmill area. It’s approximately half a miles walk that eventually takes you to The White Swan pub. Plenty of ducks and swans along the way. Enjoyable at any time of the year. (Some of my photos were taken during the flooding)"
"Riverside and Woodmill is a lovely place to go for a walk, chill out, have a picnic, canoe or paddle board up and down the river. It can get pretty busy on the pathway, but there are some quieter places dotted around. A walk from Cobden bridge to the White Swann Pub should take around 45 minutes. Shame that some people do not use the rubbish bins provided or take their litter home."
