"I wanted to highlight the excellent experience last weekend on the Heavy Weather Course in partnership with the Tall Ships team. John was an outstanding skipper and probably the best I’ve sailed with - in my modest/medium experience. His personal style, knowledge and patience really made the three days work. The mate and watch leaders were pretty good as well! It was very clear that this group have the superior interpersonal skills to work with a range of customers and coach them through the necessary routines for Challenger. Personally I thought the yacht itself and facilities were great. I liked to pipe cot sleeping arrangements but that may not be a universal attitude! The (always fickle) weather worked in our favour with F9 conditions outside of the Solent on Friday. Neither FCS or TS can take credit for that! The only observation I would make is that i didn’t appreciate that there would be so much theory - not a criticism but more a communication thing."
"Bavaria 46, £4500 for the whole boat, Competent Crew course in July. It was my first sailing experience and my expectations were exceeded. FCS had sent instructions in advance, decent level of organisation, and I had full support from the company, thanks Martin, and the team! Ross is an excellent instructor and shared a lot of knowledge with us. He sparked my curiosity to take the next Day Skipper course! Looking forward to it!"
"Wonderful experience from start to finish, and as someone who has been away from the water for many years, the complete package was brilliant from start to finish, from the initial inquiry to achieving my goal of day skipper! Everyone in the office is so helpful, and I have to thank Sam for all her guidance and advice before booking. Josh on the water was truly a star, patient, kind, immensely knowledgable, and always encouraging and supportive. He made the whole experience not only fun but also gave me the confidence to charter a boat on my own, which is invaluable and a skill I never thought I could master. I would recommend the one-on-one buying the whole boat, which makes it even more enjoyable and also flattens off the learning curve as there is no waiting for others -so thoroughly recommend it - it's one of the reasons I went with First Class Sailing. I also recommended the split weekends, as it gives you time to study and build on the knowledge before putting it into practice the following weekend. First Class are ......well just First Class - what more can I say!! David"
"Completed a competent crew course over one weekend. This was my first real introduction to sailing so finding the right training school was very important to me. I couldn’t have picked a better environment to begin my sailing journey. Ashley, our instructor had an impressive wealth of knowledge and let us all have a significant amount of hands on time which was incredible. A truly unforgettable experience. Thank you to all those involved."
"Competent Crew Course completed. Had an absolute blast on this course being skippered by Andy. Really took time to connect with everyone and build the crew morale. The weather to a novice was pretty rough in the leadup to Storm Eunice, but Andy was a complete pro at all times and even made his novice crew feel like being part of the decision process of where to go, blending the adverse weather conditions in as part of the course. I can't talk highly enough of him as the instructor and hope I get Andy on all future courses with First Class. 10 out of 5 for instruction, enjoyment, the boat, the food, the giggles and the lessons."
