I picked up my custom built Orbea recently. The phenomenal service Mark and Gavin provide goes above and beyond. Super passionate and knowledgeable, Mark really takes time to talk to you and listens, finds out what sort of cycling you do... for me endurance not speed...and that the outcome is that you leave with your perfect bike. What I also like as a “novice” to road cycling, is Mark takes time to go back to basics and doesn’t make you feel stupid!! "Wonderful place. Owned and run by people who clearly have a passion for bikes. I cannot believe I didn't know this place has been on my door step for a couple of years now. So many other bike shops seem distant and not interested. Not here! You are made to feel right at home from the moment you walk through the door. Bike was in for a complete groupset upgrade and came back looking like new after a complete strip down and rebuild. Bike runs beautifully! Everything crisp and just so... No rattles no squeaks. "Mark managed to do what several other bike shops in the area didn't manage to do: sell me a bike which actually fitted me properly. From the outset, he listened to what sort of cycling I do (and what I want to do), and recommended me a bike that was in budget, including a proper fitting. He 'went the extra mile', opening the shop on a Sunday afternoon especially so I could collect it at a time that worked for me, and also did the '3 month service' and 2nd fitting free of charge even though I'd left it way over the 3 month period (again, other local shops have refused to do a 'free' service even a few days over the 3 month period). Mark seems genuinely more interested in having a happy customer than making a fast buck. He knows his stuff and his enthusiasm is infectious. Don't buy a road bike until you've been to Service de Velo."

"Had my road bike assembled here. When I went to pick it up the price was higher than quoted. I was told a lot of care and attention had been taken. Result was gears and brakes badly set up and so returned bike. Not much better second time round and headset loose so had to take it elsewhere to be fixed. Would not go back or recommend. My experience of Halfords was better than this shop and I don't have confidence that they know much at all about bikes here. Very disappointing but I would certainly suggest others avoid. There are way better bike repair shops around the area."
