Reviews
"This was a cheap hotel at £160 for 3 nights over a weekend and it was very easy to find, pulling straight off the A38 into the car park. When I arrived the lady on reception was very pleasant and even went to the effort of finding a new key fob and bringing it to my room even though I told her it didn't matter. She also helped me find my WiFi code on the email as I was too stupid to find it!! The rooms are basic but lovely and clean with a big comfy bed and large desk. My only suggestion would be if there could be plug sockets next to the bed but this wasn't really a problem as I could charge things at the desk. There is very little in the way of supermarkets within walking distance however there is a lovely canal you can walk along behind the hotel and it is less than a 15 minute walk to Barton Marina which has some lovely little shops and cafes including a farm shop. It was very quiet despite being next to a dual carriageway."
"Staff bumped this up from a 1 star review to a 2 star. So tired, outdated and dingy. Carpets threadbare and full of stains. Rooms were clean, to a degree, but the corridor and room just stunk of bleach. If you're lucky enough to have a front facing room, prepare for traffic noise come 6-6:30. Convenient for access to the marina. Travelodge - please invest some money in this hotel and update it. Better still, knock it down and get it rebuilt."
"Well, where can I start. On arrival there was no cups or towels in the room, the person on reception couldn't have been more helpful he resolved the matter straightaway, The carpet in the hallway is well beyond its sell by date, there was a strange smell when 1st opening the door, the carpet inside the room is not much better, corners in the room quite grimy, the hotel could do with a serious update. Staff very helpful no complaints there. It's next to a very busy road but was very quiet inside, we had a good nights sleep. All in all you pay for what you get, it is a budget hotel after all."
"Accessible room had heavy door and heavy bathroom door. The bath would be great for a young paraplegic traveler who was able to lift themselves in and out of the bath. But for my 85 year old mum it was basically useless. The beds in the twin room were pushed together like a double. So I separated them out putting one over by the window. The staff were pleasant and polite but not really friendly. Driving in and out on busy fast road was a little dangerous. Could do with a longer slip road to enter and exit."
"Room and bedding was damp and stank of bleach. Carpet was bleached under the window so obviously using it to clean mould. I realised the hotel was on the A38 which didn't bother me, but there was a canal right outside the back window which obviously was causing the damp. Had to leave the window open on 3 very cold nights to get rid of the bleach smell. Staff though, I can't fault. The building is desperately in need of modernising. Oh and no TV signal."
