"Beautiful building with a Tudor hall with original wooden panels, incredible tapestries and a beautiful chapel. The volunteers who guide you around are incredibly knowledgeable and delighted to share & inform. Extensive woodland walks are available around the property & there is also a walled garden and tea shop."
"A beautiful country estate with stunning grounds to walk around and enjoy. Fantastic photo opportunities to the novice through professional. We didn't go into the house on this occasion but the option is there. Entry price is reasonable and a cafe provides hot and cold drinks and a bite to eat if required."
"Just visited the gardens today. The wild flowers in the walled garden are lovely. A good place to visit and walk round. Work on the lake means you can't walk round it at the moment, but but lots of other walkways and places to sit, and excellent ice creams!"
"Nice long walk with trails and fields and great views from outside the trust. Just visited today to understand the place and distance would visit with family next time to see the trust. It seems to be good half a day spend time to cover the surroundings of the trust and also visit the trust house. Anyone looking for good 6-7 mile walk altogether from town center worth visiting."
"A most interesting house to visit. The tapestries were fascinating. Some of the best that I have seen I also enjoyed walking around the lake which offers very good views of the house One frustration was that there were no guide books available for sale. Apparently they are waiting for them from the printers. I would have thought that they would have ordered them well in advance in anticipation of the start of the tourist season."
