Reviews
"Excellent Southampton pub about 20 minutes walk from St Mary's Stadium. Four cask beers on handpump when I visited. The pub which was previously a bookshop is adorned with hundreds of books many for sale. Unfined and vegan-friendly beers are clearly marked on the pump clips and blackboard. Not too busy before the Spurs game."
"It's a shame, this was a lovely bar with nice beer. There was trivial pursuit which we where playing and enjoying our self. Unfortunately, there was a barman, I assume the owner who came across in a rude way. Apparently there was a pub quiz on in 30 mins which he seemed to want to shuffle us out for despite the bar being relatively empty on a Sunday night then shuved our bags up the bench with out asking to make space at a table which was still empty for a couple mins after. We would have been happy to move them if asked politely. There where other indications that this man appeared rude which I will not mention but it is a real shame. It was a nice place to sit."
"Really rude staff and poor selection of beer. They have no idea!!!!! Go to Bedford place if you want good beer in Southampton!"
"Excellence in how to run a micropub! Really friendly staff. Polite and professional. The locals were also very welcoming once I announced myself as an away (Blackpool) football supporter. So happy to have found this little gem of a pub in Southampton. A must when visiting the area."
"I popped in to have a few pints. I asked if it was possible to have a taste of two of the beers. After which the owner had a massive go at me in front of everyone and said I was after free beer. We got one pint and left due to the rudeness. Funnily enough, most places offer you to have a taste before buying even if you don't ask to. We'll anyway, perhaps the owner here is having a mental breakdown or something but it was pretty much empty and unfortunately this place is not what it once was. We left after one pint. Never again. Update: one of the bar staff did apologise as we were on the way out. Just make sure you go there when the owner isn't there!"
