"Visited when we stayed in Eastleigh. I had the steak and my wife had the pie. Both were excellent but the steak was cooked perfectly and one of the best I've had in a pub. Both meals were very reasonable compared to elsewhere locally. The service was both efficient and really friendly. Would have given 5 stars except the pub could probably do with a bit of tlc. But overall would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again in May."

"Not often can I not fault an establishment. The staffing was friendly, attentive and met all our needs. We expected to find standard pub grub, but the food was probably the best I had from what appears to be an unassuming pub in a residential area. The burgers were juicy and flavorful. I would say they are far and above of your burger specialist restaurants and the chips were crispy and we'll seasoned from the off. The Good Companions has a very relaxed and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a quiet drink, a meal or celebrating with loved ones."
