"Don't bother! I had a pedicurist, a bad one, not a podiatrist! The woman peeled my feet off like a potato. She was proud to show how much skin she had removed (in a judgemental tone), but I feared I would soon see my whole feet on her tray too like shredded skin. I know I have hard skin, but I didn't have that much skin to be removed! Raw feet for 5 days now. I felt nothing on the day, but couldn't walk the following day. I can hardly walk now and my feet feel like sandpaper. Also, to be able to judge your client, you have to at least have skills. I hate it when podiatrists think you have to file your feet every day and wear sensible shoes when they do a bad job. Never more! One star is too many! Update: 10 days later and my feet are still sore from the treatment! I'm so angry!"
"BEWARE. I have had ingrown toenails for years. Was told by the "podiatrist" that I had managed them really well. She cut my nails so short that my ingrown toenails are now back with a vengeance. Will now have to spend more money to go to a proper podiatrist. Very disappointed with very sore toes."
"Visited a few weeks ago hoping to purchase something to relieve the pain of bursitis on the ball of my foot. I was expecting to get some sort of soft pad, but the lady ( I assume manageress) said immediately she knew exactly what I needed which was a pair of their moulded orthotics. There was no doubt in her spiel that this was the cure. I was amazed, but she said doctors often refer people to her because the NHS orthotics are so poorly made ( which had been my experience). My feet were scanned showing an over pronation of my left foot and the custom made orthotics would erase my bursitis forever. As she was so confident & everything seemed medically assured, I spent £ 60 on these orthotics. The moulded orthotics were ready in 10 minutes ( brilliant), but when she came to put them in my boots, I couldn't get my feet in as well. She then proceeded without asking my permission, to rip out the inners which were affixed to my boots, totally wrecking the inners. The sad end to this tale is that the orthotics did absolutely nothing to relieve the pain of the bursitis even after wearing them for 3 weeks now in all of my footwear. I wouldn't have minded so much if the manageress had said there were no guarantees that this would solve the problem, but I think she just wanted the sale. I subsequently mentioned my experience to a friend, who said she had the same experience, the orthotics didn't solve her problem either. So beware the confident sales patter & of course there's no comeback because the orthotics are custom made."
"The woman dealing with my mother’s feet was kind, careful and attentive. She cut her toenails but also took the time to have a chat with her and check how she was doing which was just lovely and very much appreciated."
"My mother (aged 83) had a very pleasant experience at Shuropody this week. After a dicey start (a temporary manager refused to allow staff to treat her when she was late for an appointment a few weeks ago) she was delighted to be welcomed by the warm, friendly staff and to receive the treatment her feet needed. She is already looking forward to her next visit."
