"I have a nearly identical experience to Edouard's post. When parking before Christmas I got a nice £60 fine, now rising to £100! this is outrageous. The landlord is building on part of the car park reducing overall capacity. I parked near the front edge where there was formerly parking, still thinking it was okay to park there. The markings have either been scrubbed off or weathered off. Some of the paint still shows. They then used the pathetic excuse of parking outside a marked bay to fine me for shopping in their store. Let's be clear this was parking space and there is plenty of room. We have complained and been told by Matalan that they have no responsibility for the car park. Yes you do. You rent the building and have parking as part of the deal. You have every responsibility to look after your valued customers interests and ensuring they are not treated this way. I will issue an update on this and hope they will help. Otherwise I'd avoid using this shop and being trapped by this money making venture....Please beware of this opportunity to fleece unsuspecting shoppers."

"We parked in all good faith for approx. 1/2 hour in the car park of this retail park to do some Christmas shopping at Matalan (Rose kiln lane). We now just received a £100 fine (£60 if paid within 14 Days), about week later, for a reason that are as unclear as the parking rules (which we did not see any signs of - but then who expects to have issues parking in front of a store they purchase from, on a retail in the middle of nowhere). The parking rules are clearly not obvious as we did not notice any signs or floor indication and park in line with others? It does seem to me like a good little business for the so called parking company (aka scam). I am still unclear if I should have paid or if my parking was not appropriate... but it leaves me with no other choice other than bite the bullet, pay and clearly rule out this retail park in the future as I cannot afford this kind of surprises. Local shops then complain that people shop online! Merry Xmas all."

"The home section of the store is really nice to walk around and has a good range of items. I don’t find the women’s clothing to my taste but that said they do stock a decent range of casual and work wear. I couldn’t find any bras in the larger sizes so would recommend elsewhere for this. Children’s clothing is generally good although there is nothing for that in between age of teen to adult."
