"Positives: Friendly staff, great tasting food. Warm cozy decor. Good atmosphere. Sunday Roast (beef) was great and steak and ale pie delicious. Negatives: Despite plenty of front of house staff we waited 25 minutes for serving of 5 chicken wings as a starter then a further 20 minutes for main courses. Can only guess they were understaffed in the kitchen. Several tables seated after us received their meals prior to us. Should perhaps be advised ordering a starter will mean longer wait times overall."
"Great menu, though service can be a bit confusing. We loved the diversity of the menu and each loved what we chose to eat - and it was such a relaxed environment that we stayed for coffee and dessert! The only slight confusion is between table service vs going up to the bar to order. The latter definitely worked, but they 'd have to update their attentiveness if taking table service seriously."
"Due to personal circumstances I had to book to eat out on Xmas Day for the first time. The Brig is the closest pub to me so made sense to go there. No need to drive so for once I could have a couple of drinks. The menu was made up of four courses. After eating and enjoying the first two courses, there was a slight disappointment in that there was no regular cream available to go with my choice of Xmas Pudding. I've never been a fan of brandy sauce and the other options given did not appeal, so I decided to go without. In fairness, I was pretty full after eating the main so every cloud etc. At the time of my booking it was fairly quiet, though was starting to get busier when I left. I get anxious in places that are too busy so was glad to leave when I did. That's not a slight on the Brig O'Don. The food was lovely, the staff very friendly - I finally put (masked) faces to names - and I spent a pleasant few minutes chatting about football with one staff member. The visit helped make a difficult day a little more bearable. There was also an incredible gesture made by Brandon when I booked that I am eternally grateful for. Such kindness towards a stranger shows there are still decent people in the world."
"First time visiting Brig O’Don to try their Sunday roast! The waitress who served me (I’m sorry I forgot her name) was really nice, polite and attentive as she took some time and effort to give me some options for specific drinks and alternatives available. I tried the lamb shank part of the Sunday roast, it was really lovely! The lamb was really tender and the other parts of the dish was cooked really well and they were very generous with their gravy. The environment and deco in the pub was really nice and suits the Christmas vibe at the moment. My only feedback would be that the drinks menu was slightly dirty and it was not clean. Definitely worth visiting!!!"
