"I very rarely post reviews, especially when they're neither "positive" nor "negative" because I understand the time, effort, dedication and money spent in building a business and reputation. However, after due consideration I feel I need to voice a concern. With great social media presence comes an ideal platform from which to also address some popular misconceptions as they are raised. Today I believe Dr Brady missed such an opportunity. I believe that he could, and should, have pointed out that not all overweight dogs, (or "ottomans on legs" as one commentator called them), are necessarily overfed or under exercised. I've bought Dr Brady's book. I've followed his page and his blogs looking for information that might help me help my overweight, unneutered, appropriately exercised, appropriately (raw) fed boy. I respect his knowledge, his qualifications and his dedication. However, I no longer have full confidence that he does, as his company name would suggest, put Dogs First. It's with a truly heavy heart then that I feel I need to leave a "neutral" review."
"Conor is very helpful. As a first time dog owner I was quite nervous about making the switch to raw. My biggest concern was getting the meals balanced. I contacted Conor and he gave me loads of helpful advice and made me feel much more at ease about making the change. He is also extremely patient. I bombarded him with questions! My dogs are on raw three months now and they are loving it. They get so excited now when they hear the fridge door open. I'm so happy I made the change. Thanks Conor :)"
"I contacted Conor about raw food because my puppy had been very sick at a very young age, had multiple vet visits and stays and surgery. It can be a bit of a minefield as all the information you are given is to feed your dog dry food and nothing about natural food and if you change over to raw food that consensus is that you could be putting your pup's health at risk. Conor really gave me good, sensible information about what to feed my pup and for his breed too, which set my mind at rest about changing over. My pup has thrived since being on the raw food diet - he went from peeing 10-15 times a day down to 5-6 and was fully house-trained within two weeks; his behaviour improved and he doesn't smell anymore! I was delighted with the advice Conor gave and find Dog's First website to be a great source of info."
"Dogsfirst.ie is a great site - really useful for general dog info and specifically for practical tips on raw feeding. I was really unhappy about what I was feeding my dogs but had no idea how to change it and still be giving them the right nutrition. Conor's site helps you work out exactly what your dog needs, provides recipes and preparation advice, and the link to Carnivore Kelly's to buy the meat in bulk. We've been happily feeding our 3 dogs a raw diet for nearly a year and they're so much happier, healthier and keen on their grub! Add to this the general feeling of support you get from Conor plus all the other dog owners in the facebook group and it's a great service all round."
"Conor is my 'go to' guy for anything pooch related. He helped with the transition of my dogs to fresh fed and has helped out with any issues along the way. His blogs are informative and well researched and are also entertaining! His best advice ever ... 'Never buy anything with a picture of a dog on it' ... Say no more! My dogs are thriving now ... No more itchy skin (Westie) or anal gland issues (Yorkie) all down to the advice from Dogs First. Keep up the good work."
