"Booked this hotel hoping for a relaxing change of scenery but it ended up being an extremely tiring and uncomfortable stay. The pool is clean and rather nice, the building itself is pretty and the rooms are fair. My partner and I stayed in a ground floor room which wasn't properly clean. There was dust and cobwebs dotted around the room, the "double bed" was two single beds stuck together and the duvet supplied with it was two singles zipped together. These beds have been the most uncomfortable hotel beds I've ever tried to sleep on. Upon inspection of the room we found dust in the corners on the floor, some cobwebs above the patio doors (which were unlocked when we arrived and very stiff to lock when you wanted to secure the room), the TV remote was missing the back cover, the bedside lights seem to have been broken as they are floppy and unstable, the shower was super slippery and was left on scorching hot. The main thing for me that ruin this hotel is the checkout time of 10 am. I have never stayed at a hotel where the checkout time is before 12 pm. So, when I asked to change this I was told it is £10 per hour for a later checkout. When I couldn't sleep and it was 2 am I went to reception and advised them of my discomfort and that I will not be out of the room till 12 pm they said that is fine and will make a note. So at 9:22 am we have a knocking at the door for room service wanting to clean the room. Advised still here and will be till around 12 pm. At 10:47 am we were awoken again but not by a knocking, by someone actually entering our room. Someone clearly did not make a note of our later checkout time. This hotel has disappointed me far beyond what I expected and I would love to have a refund."
"I regularly stop at hotels chosen and booked by my wife so was a bit concerned when this booking was made by my company, after reading some of the negative reviews on here, I was even more dubious. My doubts were laid to rest as soon as I arrived, the reception team were very welcoming and helpful, so I booked in and headed to the golf course. From the point of view of a complete novice, I was greeted there by John and another gentleman in the shop, and immediately got that very welcome that continued throughout my stay. Being a novice golf player, I did feel nervous about hitting my first golf ball in years, Within minutes, John had me swinging my clubs properly, and even hitting balls in the right direction at least some of the time. Apparently the hotel and golf course has new owners now, and they're enthusiastic about improving everything. Well it certainly shows, it's excellent. On to the evening, dinner was prepared and served perfectly, service was spot on, no complaints at all. The bar staff couldn't have been better. The room was exactly what I expected, though it would be an improvement if they added some moisturiser, But that's just a personal touch. A very peaceful nights sleep followed. Morning and it's checkout time, always a worry to me, no problems at all here, the checkout procedure couldn't have been smoother and the receptionists were still helpful, at other places they're quite often tired and grumpy in the morning So at the end of my stay, I would certainly book again, and happily suggest this venue to others"
"Hotel was nice and clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. Both evening meal and breakfast was excellent. Rooms were very good with tea and coffee making facilities. Bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again."
"Staff were easy to talk to but it felt like on many occasions we had to repeat requests and conversations prior to our stay, as well as chase them up. The room itself looked nice but the bathrooms needs some TLC, particularly flooring which had a number of rips. Food was really nice though with plenty to choose from!"
