"I saw this private GP online and booked an appointment to see a doctor virtually but turns out it was all just a scam. I turned up at the Pharmacy which has unhygienic and operated by unprofessional workers without masks in the middle of this Pandemic/lockdown. They Didn’t sound like they knew what they were doing and took us into the back room which had a frozen laptop which we were asked to sit and wait for. We waited 15 mins and nothing happened. Asked the so-called Pharmacist to assist us but had no clue what he was doing...I tried to call Medicspot 3 times which I patiently waited for to get onto someone to talk to but no one had answered the call. The Pharmacy didn’t seem to have any contact with Medicspot and shrug their shoulders when I asked if they could contact them about our appointment. It’s a scam which is situated in a tiny room at the back of a very low-budget Pharmacy with unprofessional workers which have no courtesy in dealing with customers or knowledge of what they are doing. So in the end I paid the fee in full, drove 15 miles and drove back with no result. No GP appointment and absolutely no courtesy from the Pharmacy workers who were there at the time."
"Desperately came here after getting a bad eye infection and so glad I did. The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful and the docter herself was brilliant. It is done through a video call but is very thorough with equipment at hand to take things like temperature and heart rate. Would very much recommend if you are struggling to reach your usual doctor or if you have an emergency case."
"Very grateful to doctors from MedicSpot who assisted me with an appointment and treatment when I was unable to obtain an appointment at my Health Centre"
"Good doctor, attentive. I had a good experience."
"I used this service today and was seriously disappointed with it. Basically, this is all done in a very small back-room in a pharmacy. I was shown into the room and left with a laptop with no proper instructions. There was no explanation that I would need to use a set of medical instruments (clearly linked to the PC) that are provided in a case at the side of the laptop. The first problem I found was that there is no scroll bar at the side of the web pages, so I had to leave the room to ask the pharmacist what to do when the pages were too big for the screen. When it came to using the medical instruments, the on-screen doctor asked me to use each specific instrument in turn, but I couldn't find one of them because someone had stacked a load of Medicspot publicity literature in the instrument case, on top of the relevant instrument. Surely the pharmacist should have checked this before I was shown into the room. If she had explained about the use of each instrument in advance of the consultation, it would have become obvious that one was hidden in this literature. When it came to using the stethoscope, it is became clear that you need the pharmacist to help (it says this on the screen), so I had to put my shirt back on and leave the consultation room to get the pharmacist. There needs to be a button in the room so an assistant can be summoned to help. It was clear that the pharmacist in this case had no idea that she was going to have to do this - and she didn't know what she was doing! She actually asked if she could put the stethoscope on my back over the top of my shirt and was clearly embarrassed when she was told "No" by the doctor and I had to loosen my shirt so she could reach underneath it. She was obviously not a trained medical professional like a nurse and I cannot imagine what this would have been like if I was female and the pharmacist was male! This was very bad! At the end of the consultation, you scroll through some more pages and at the very end it says that an assistant will come to sterilize the kit. I left and told the pharmacist, who told me that I would have to do the sterilization. I was appalled by this and refused point-blank. To ask the customer to sterilize the equipment so that the next customer can use it is just terrible. I now wonder who used the medical kit before me, what did they have wrong with them (medically) and did they sterilize it properly. This is very, very poor and - in my view - unsafe and unprofessional. The pharmacy staff are clearly not trained in how to assist the customers (who are, by definition because they are paying for this consultation service unwell and probably infectious). They are also, I am sorry to say, quite rude and unhelpful. This service is simply taking advantage of the difficulties of getting doctors' appointments through the NHS. Do not use this service."
